Sundown’s been shut for a while. Lightwater Valley has remodelled itself to be for younger kids now. Edit: Apparently Sundown is still open - phew!
We're camping in a tent. Never thought the kids would take to it, but provided it's warm enough, they only complain as much as they do at home!
Looking at about 45 mins for Plas Newydd and just over an hour for Bodnant. You probably would be better maybe doing Bodnant on the way home as you will pass it anyway as it’s off the A55 near Llandudno junction.
I'll definitely have a look. We don't mind driving 45 minutes to be fair. But the eldest's phone has just run out of data and we might not survive the night.
Cannon Hall Farm is a full day out now. Back when we took our kids it was more like a half day . Don't think its badly priced.
We normally go to Cannon Hall and don't even book the farm as there is enough to do outside for most of the day anyway. We have however booked the farm for the 6th as my kiddo has an inset day thankfully and it's less than half the price on a normal school day at £18 for the three of us. Wentworth garden centre is good too. I live in Sheffield so we go to Graves Park too which is alright. Car park is terrible though so we drive a bit further up and go on the top entrance as there is normally spaces there. We went to Magna in the last break and if you pay once you can go back for a whole year free
Wentworth castle isn't bad for a few hours on a sunny day. Take a picnic and sit on the grass, let the kids play round the castle itself (it's not an actual castle but is popular with kids), have a walk around the gardens, go down into the fields and look at the deer. It's £5 for adults and £2.50 for kids but if you park around the corner you can walk in for free (through a public footpath) you just can walk in the main gate so have to go through the other entrance but it's perfectly legal.
I was certain but I've googled and it seems it isn't. My mate who used to go there with me all the time when we were little (when it was Pet's Corner) and who always takes her own kids told me it was.
Sundown is showing open on the website. ? Not been to lightwater for yrs. But son and his mrs took the kids and recommended it.
Not sure if people with children aged 6-15 know but they can apply for a Blue (or green or purple or a variety of other colours) Peter Badge which gives them free entry to loads of places if accompanied by a full paying adult (e.g. Eureka, DIG, Jorvic etc.). Have a look here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/findoutmore/apply-for-a-blue-peter-badge
