I really hope the CEO doesn't think that Director changes will make people forget about last season.

The last time the CEO spoke to fans he mentioned again that they were looking at what went wrong last season.

We are going into a VERY big week for the future of the club with vision talk and a new Head Coach but that should only happen after an explanation of things learnt. If not he will once again find himself going into a season in league one and talking about things that went on whilst in the championship.

I am sorry but you have lost me on this post , if you are suggesting what I think you are then you are expecting a new coach & numerous changes all being completed this week . We still have not had the championship season play off final played yet & this season has therefore not concluded & the dust has not settled , surely we want to get things right & rushing in to pacify anxious fans is folly , we want to try & erase mistakes that were made last season , let the new board go about their business in their own time & hopefully make the right decisions , last years mistakes do not need statements as we are all well aware of the problems the suits created last season , the next statement I want to hear from the club is when we make the new HC appointment but I am in no rush , quite simply I would them sooner take the time it takes & hopefully get it right , a lot of candidates & agents etc will be on holiday now & things do not happen overnight , just cut the board some slack & let them get on with things .

We all know what went wrong this season and so do the club, that's why they changed the board members. no further explanation needed

I'd say Phil is basically saying ..until the club accept and recognise what went wrong, both club and support can both second guess all day long and then talk about it until the cows come home, ...instead someone needs to either accept and shoulder the blame or fingers need pointing in the culprits direction
instead of hoping we the supporters will just forget and accept and move on ....tell us what they plan to do to rectify our relegation and what are the plans to move forward for the future.....less talking more action from the CEO and the board

That's what I think he means.....

    That said
In my honest opinion we should wait until we hear what they've got to say on the 27th I do believe...i think phils jumping the gun on his request for information so soon ....but I agree action is going to out strip any words

Like the old adage don't keep telling me you are sorry show me you are sorry
This next month and any action taken by the club is going to define how they build bridges and move forward not only with the support but their custodianship of the club its self

Clarity can only be gained once you've tasted the essence , and last season the essence was tainted in more than one way
Likewise one can't have the clarity needed without experiencing the essence
Hopefully the new board get it right the first time of asking and rectify the wrongs of last season both on and off the field.
    ....

I see it so much in life (don't want to talk politics BUT they are the worst for this) that people just say we will learn but never talk about it and never learn anything.

There's a long list of things that still need fixing, and I think the new Board will be acutely aware they are now firmly on the hook for that. Getting rid of Conway & Lee was a huge step forward, but it's only the first step. That said, results are king. Always have been, probably always will be. Things will quickly move out of focus if we get off to a flyer next season. Let's not pretend things are going to get fixed overnight either. It's not like the match day experience was brilliant before Conway & Lee came along. The reality is it's never been very good. As long as I remember, people have complained about it. It just got magnified under an ownership that simply didn't give a fk about the Club.

I hear what you are saying but your original post highlighted that we are entering an extremely important week , making out that the next seven days are somehow of significant importance , to me it is important that we set about putting things right & if this takes small but correct steps then thats fine, I do not expect everything to be done in a whirlwind , the first steps was to reshape the board & the running of the club & that has been done, the next step is to get the new manager & I do not want them to rush in just for the sake of it , if it takes time to get the best target then so be it , I just do not understand where you are coming from with the importance of this week , lets just show a bit of patience & give the new look board a chance .

''I hear what you are saying but your original post highlighted that we are entering an extremely important week''

I'm just putting an opinion out.

First impressions of someone that's new to a lot of fans including myself. You see how people react to wording around certain things. People still use wording against the CEO from September.

I also think the headcoach needs to be sorted asap. Again its an opinion. If you don't then that's fine.

I'm just looking at the number of days before pre-season starts. I imagine the new guy will want to talk to the players to find out if they want to be here, speak to the club to see who they want out. Speak to the other coaches.

Then watch a number of games from last season.

Then plan for pre-season and talk about where he wants to improve things.

Listening to Podcasts etc they always talk about the importance of May to July. Its where you make the real improvements. It's not Holiday time. It's the equivalent of November/ December for Retail.
