    Yep, still struggling with the wording.

    I am better with simpler (though still obnoxious) phrases like "1% of the worlds population own 90% of the total wealth". That registers in my tiny brain. The original statement above is one of those wordy phrases that I could read a 100 times and still not process.

    Let's say a generation accounts for 25% of the population. When boomers were 30-40, their 25% of the population held 21% of all the wealth. Nowadays the 25% who are 30-40 (millenials) hold only 4.8% of the total wealth, meaning that other groups in society have increased the proportion of wealth they hold when compared to previous generations.

    Which group owns the other 60 odd percent? Is it over 80s?

    Yep, gotcha.

    I think the wording in the article kept making me read it as "millenials only make up 4.8% of the population but hold most wealth". But now I've read it again, it makes sense.
