Ķ I thought they arranged one? Do you reckon they just sacked it off and a couple of stragglers just hung about outside the club shop?
I don’t know who organised it but don’t believe it came from the Conway out group, may be someone who’s a member dunno. Was never going to work after a game in my opinion.
A proper protest could make a difference if it had a proper organiser, police were notified (they would be aware and on standby, rather than come steamrolling in as soon as a big crowd gathers). The media could also be notified. Placards could be made, you could even have a sound system for speakers. But it needs proper organisation by someone who is truly passionate about following it through. A post on Facebook saying ‘meet round the back of the club shop after game’ isn’t going to generate any proper interest. I’m amazed no one has come forward to do it given the levels of injustice some feel.
I'd argue it would take a lot less time and energy than the months-long back and forth wrangling of certain supporters' groups that have got us nowhere. If people came together and united and put the same energy into an impactful, meaningful protest, I think we could actually move forward as a fanbase and look to move these owners on.
Somebody should make and sell scarves in two halves in the colours of our original kit, like they do at ManUre. Supporters Trust? http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Barnsley/Barnsley.htm
Thought the Conway Out group for all their faults had some good ideas and had the timing of protest correct. Now we are awaiting results of a questionnaire that will throw up results when the season is over. Seems everything in life has to have 2 warring factions going hammer and tong over the internet.
