https://fcbusiness.co.uk/news/football-club-ceo-of-the-year-award-2022-finalists-announced/ I think hes the one we missed the most this season
Really? He's done brilliant - yes. But Nathan Jones for Luton deserves it 100000000%. Especially given the squad/budget/resources.
Don’t agree given where Forest were when he took over to where they are now. Turned a team round that looked nailed on for relegation to a potential automatic place. Nathan Jones has done well for all reasons you give but not turned it round like Cooper has.
Nailed on for relegation is a bit of stretch mate. He joined mid-september. Their squad should have done a lot better, they made the right choice getting rid of Hughton (...). They only played I think 7 league games at the time. Cooper would definitely be my second choice. But your comment about never knowing why Cooper didn't win it suggest he should be miles in front. I don't like Jones, but he's done a phenomenal job at Luton. 100% deserved especially given what I previously commented on Imo
Has he and his girlfriend sorted their immigration status out now? Someone was being economical with the truth last year. Not bitter at all.
Not sure I 100% understand how they're judged but well.done Dane. Wonder if he'd have got it had he stayed at Barnsley!?
I’m gonna retract a little bit here. When I first wrote what I did for some reason I thought the Silva at Fulham had won it, hence why I couldn’t understand why he got it over Cooper. I have no issues with Jones having won it for various reasons including what you and Helen have put here.
By any standard Danes’s had a remarkable three years since he first rolled up in the UK. His first season concluded with our last gasp escape at automatic promotion chasing Brentford (yes I know it came with a big slice of luck re Wigan/pandemic effect). We then went on from there to the play offs last season and now overseeing Forest’s turn around into an automatic promotion chasing side. One way or another I think they will be in the Premier League next season. He certainly deserves the award as far as I’m concerned.
Was Conway nominated for Manager of the Year, CEO of the Year and Owner of The Year...... I get why he wouldn't be nominated for Investor of the Year.
I remember press reports last summer, stating that the reason he was stopping being CEO at Barnsley, was because his 2 year visa had come to an end. The club didn't seem to have planned for this occurence. From the outside looking on,it seemed either incompetent or unfortunate. That's my memory of last summer, Paul. He had got into his stride as CEO,after winning people over and then suddenly he's leaving, and the club seemed unconcerned and had no immediate replacement. Who and when did people know he was leaving? Why was no replacement ready? Dane leaving was the biggest mistake of last summer, the impact, the club is still experiencing. In answer to your question Paul, I don't know directly know, perhaps it was a "dead cat on the table "; to detract us from Dane leaving for Notts Forest, which had already been planned.
