We went down lamely without any fight 13th April 2002. Defeated 0-2 in a gutless performance at Oakwell v Norwich City, which sent us down.
Relegation, promotion, mid-table... That's not the measure of success. Let's see if we manage to sell anyone, then we'll know how successful the season has been.
Like I said "It isn't the first time we've gone down lamely". You can add the Derby 4-1 last time to that too.
Makes my piss boil when they give all that crap on Twitter! Most are so far up their own rings it's unbelievable!!!
Tbf it was a good way of connecting with the fans when we weren't able to be there during COVID. Don't really look at it much these days, so hadn't twigged that Quina was the only one.
I'm not one for social media in general; but the way i see it is that they're all "the big i am" merchants! Putting out their posts and so on. Making a 'connection ' with the fans. Whereas the truth, in my opinion, is far from it. They do it for their own ego! You don't get many players these days actually socialising with the supporters like they used to
I don't know anyone who uses social media without doing it for self-validation or to increase there own ego. Footballers or not.
Conway: Where's our trophy for finishing the highest in the League? EFL: There isn't one.... Conway: There must be EFL: OK, here you go then.....
Fair play to Woodrow it looks like he has shouldered the responsibility for the whole club , obviously as club captain he is expected to speak & his comments are to be respected ,now lets hope the high command follow suit & do not leave it to the players to carry the whole can , I will cut them some slack & give them until the end of the season but I fully expect some kind of clarity regarding on how they intend to approach a recovery plan & put right the wrongs of this campaign with a full apology for their mismanagement of our club this season .
I was expecting the head coach to have been removed from his position once relegation was confirmed, maybe a clause in his contract... Seems like the 99.9% CEO is willing to let this drag on and doesn't really know what to do next.
Unless we are planning to start next season with Poya still at the helm there is no point keeping him for the last 3 games. It’s a bit concerning that he is still here
My hope is that the any contract clause only legally kicks in at the end of the season, and the club are already looking at alternatives.
He’d only go and plant everything in the wrong place then stand there, emotionless, as his winter pansies fail to perform in the Spring. In fact, I am not sure he could manage a window box, never mind a whole garden.
