Doubt it would have been something he would have been thinking about at the time. Remember his sacking came a bit of out of the blue as they didn’t want to miss out on Chris Wilder potentially going to WBA.

We could have added him to the shortlist at any time but chose not to. A big opportunity wasted.

I have no idea whether there was or not, but from what Warnock has said it suggests not. The fact that nobody thought that at least sounding him out for the job was a good idea is pretty baffling, considering his track record and the situation we found ourselves in.

He'd be the perfect man to stop us getting our pants pulled down when it comes to balancing the books and re shaping the squad for league 1.

I wouldn't have thought there was any decision made as I doubt it was ever discussed or that any of those making a decision on our head coach know much about Warnock at all.

When we were last relegated Paul Conway was invited to a function at the council. (Not a party to celebrate the relegation, there was a get-together to which Conway had been invited that happened to coincide with our relegation.) Stephen Houghton offered his commiserations to Conway on the relegation to which Conway replied that it simply didn't matter.

Is it guaranteed that Asbaghi will be moved on? Even if he were to leave, will the next incumbent be another unknown?

I honestly don't think it would have made any difference and I also don't believe Warnock would have signed on, regardless of what he's saying in the papers.

    Almost certainly.

In relation to managerial appointments, we have turned into Watford, just without the quality.

In those kind of rescue situations, he would have demanded a survival bonus with the word 'million' in it. I am sure he had something similar when he dug Rotherham out of a hole. Something our board would never entertain. They would rather be relegated.

    That’s a first
Rotherham and million in the same paragraph

I am not sure we have any right to scoff at Rotherham right now. I'd swap places with them in a heartbeat. Properly run club, with a proper plan, a great manager and a tidy stadium. To be honest, I am jealous of them. They are everything we are not.

Of all the clubs I’m envious of I can honestly say Rotherham isn’t one of them tbh.
Epitome of a yo yo club .

Totally agree regarding the point of a proper run football club at the moment but I was scoffing at the idea of him demanding a bonus with a million in it and Rotherham actually agreeing to paying it

I don't actually know the figure but I am sure that there was such a bonus and i am sure it was a tidy sum.

From his post-match on Sky, I'm wooird he's still going to be here come July. He reck Ed he knew we were going down when he got the job, so why take it unless Conman had given him the assurance that he would keep his job even if we were relegated? If he'd made his feelings known at the time he'd never have got the job unless the Board had a long term plan and wanted him in place ready for League 1. If that was the case, it would explain his half-arsed effort at managing the team as he's been taking it easy because he's under no pressure to succeed.

Remember when Khaled was asked whether he would prefer an experienced manager to keep us up or a project manager for the long term and he answered that he would prefer a project manager.

Championship football is not important to the 'strategy' of these owners and board which is simply to buy cheap players, develop them a little and move them on. That is a MUCH easier strategy to make money on in the lower leagues.
