Kilian is Killian Valentin, President of the 'Saturday FC' supporters group and Stéphane Lamaix is the President of 'Socios Nancy' which seem to be the two leading groups and these were the two representatives who were invited to meet the local mayor. By last night Socios had raised 130,000 euros in support of their campaign from 600 supporters in 5 days. Immediately pre-Covid the club were averaging 11-12,000 crowds. In the earlier part of this season they were getting 6-7,000. On Saturday they got 3,000, one of their lowest ever.
Nancy drew 1-1 this evening against the team immediately above the relegation zone. This leaves them 10 points adrift (effectively 11 given the respective goal differences) with 4 games left for everybody to play. Therefore if Nancy don't win their game on Friday night they will be down. As they kick-off at 8pm we should beat them to it by quarter of an hour.
3-0 down at half time. Has a club owner ever had 2 teams relegated on the same night, quite an achievement.
INFINITE SADNESS FOLLOWING THE SMOKE SENT BY THE SUPPORTERS, THE MATCH WAS DEFINITIVELY STOPPED AT THE 40TH MINUTE AT 0-3. ASNL WILL PLAY IN THE NATIONAL NEXT SEASON.
The PMG had 4 teams playing tonight, 3 lost and the Nancy game was abandoned after forty mins with them losing 3-0. A good nights work.
It’s time somebody started a proper investigation into this shower, buying multiple clubs and letting them go to rack and ruin through a so called plan.
Reminds of that scene from Blackadder Goes Forth: "You see, there was a tiny flaw in the plan." "What was that Sir?" "It was b0ll0cks."
AS Nancy Lorraine will be relegated to National 1 for the first time in its history. a huge mess orchestrated by New City Capital who did nothing to avoid it.
One of the reasons is because the vast majority of people who moan (sometimes quite rightly) on here just moan on here and dont do anything about it. Having a moan on here achieves nothing. It might help the individuals mental state in terms of sharing their thoughts but it does nothing to change anything. Seems like Gally has something going on. If that's the case we need to get behind him to try and effect change. If you want change then by all means have a bloody good moan but do something constructive about it also.
There’s also the fact that Nancy are dropping in the the French equivalent of the National League after being in Ligue 1 only something like 8 years ago. It’s an alarming fall from grace for a team that most of us would be familiar with as playing higher up the pyramid (Kaiserslautern anyone?). The knowledge and education of why this is more than just a relegation to League One, which is where we’ve played around 50% of the last 6/7 seasons, just isn’t there for the actions you’re seeing in Nancy. Even speaking to people who point at Nancy and ask us to follow suit, a lot don’t actually know why. The French have also got an awful recent history with football violence a level way above ours so an appetite is already there in some form. Local media recently have done a positive job of shining the light on the ownership’s misgivings. More of that and more unity, rather than labelling those who don’t agree (yet) is the way forward in my opinion. We only have to see what negative press we got with the last set of protests to be cautious about going down that route. Positive negativity is possible.
I've just replied to Gally on that very point. And I did actually say that my only contribution is to moan but that I'd joined the ST online last week. I'm in Ireland so am too remote to be of any use really but I joined as a step towards adding a voice. Unfortunately, having joined I feel like I'm no further forward. The thrust of my point was that the ST needs to be front and centre right now and a rallying point.
