do I watch this, week after week, year after year, to see them digging out sloppy mud and then wait for the next move to dig out yet more mud and water. I know that this is all hit and miss but I must get a life ! The programme will soon have been on tv longer than the "treasure" has been buried.
I'm pretty sure the previous owner of the island has made off with the treasure and now spends their life laughing hysterically at the TV every week.
I read a book on the Oak Island mystery in the early 70's. I have had a passing interest in the place ever since. The Laguna brothers et alia seem to be throwing everything at it but in very slow motion. It is weirdly fascinating though. The hour long programmes can be reduced to 20 minutes with judicious use of "fast forward".
The one that makes me laugh is the metal detectorist. Grimsby born, Gary Drayton. Hardly ever uses the letter t in his speech.
I've seen the trailers between the programmes I've been watching & I agree, it's B.**** Never Watched & there's a reason for that. How many years has it been going???
The first episode was transmitted in 1350, just after the Crusades. They've been looking for the treasure ever since. ....... "coming up ......."
Reminds of the time I wasted watching the hunt for escabars millions on Nat geo, it became pretty obvious that it has all gone but they managed to stretch out an entire series of looking in empty ranches and random safe houses for long gone money!
I've never missed one, it's always intrigued me and it frustrates the hell out of me, talk about dragging it out but I'm in till the end, surely if they found treasure this series we'd have heard about it, think when it's over we'll all be disappointed.
