Ismael had West Brom in the play off places when sacked despite Dike barely kicking a ball. Dike was only one of the reasons we did so well, bear in mind Strubers losing results before Val came on the scene and how quickly he turned it around , all before Dike's signing.
How on Earth has this thread about 2 of the worst coaches we’ve had in years turned into slagging Val off?! I’d piggy back Val all the way from Turkey myself to get him back here.
Every single player was playing better and on a different level to what they are this season, surely that goes beyond one loan player!? I think you are massively underestimating the job Val did, his man management was obviously top notch as he got the best out of some very average players.
Only on the BBS could someone praise and defend a side that's likely to finish bottom, whilst criticising a side, containing some of the same players, which nearly got into the Premier league. Utterly bizarre logic!!
Because some people can't see the wood for the trees, smell the coffee or are just ******* deluded and maybe even a bit thick
But Struber had us playing mid table form. val had us around 10th before we signed Dike and Morris. Neither had us on 0.5 or 0.8 ppg Losing Dyke and in my view more significantly Mowatt was always going to weaken the team but I still think a decent manager would have had us mid table. Especially once Bassi and Quina arrived
A lot of things are down to the problems Farnham Red. Fitness issues catching players out after a struggle in pre-season. Confidence has been the other. I would say that's the major one in my opinion.
Playing so many young players and refusing to sign anyone older and more experienced is the biggest issue
He never failed at West Bromwich, they were 5th in the league when they got rid on the back of their first home defeat of the season & this was in February, its gone downhill since Bruce got the reins, they dropped a right clanger getting rid of Val.
Well it was going downhill already by then. The replacement cavalry haven't been able to stop the slide.
