    Watched several when Stones is playing.

    I have to say, if Ferdinand, Terry, Maguire, King put in some of the performances he does in games, they'd be saying how world class they are. Over the years, the amount of stick he has gotten for being 'overrated' by pundits & fans alike (especially on social media) is mental.
    He could do something fantastic, and get a 'decent that', another player does similar it'll be labelled as incredible.
    Or am I just being biased? o_O:D

    Atletico played really well that second half, up until about 80th minute when it all kicked off - someone said on Twitter, why can't they play like that all time?

    Atletico did nothing but defend for one and half matches and then played for 35mins until it kicked off. They got just what they deserved. Nothing.

    Completely agree with you mate. Hence why I'd be cheesed off being an Atleti fan - they have potential to play like that but often play the most dullest of football. I realise it'd due to Simeone and it's worked obviously with the trophies they've won. But surely theyd be in with a better chance playing like they did for the 35 minutes

    I’ve always thought their is some sort of agenda against him by some. One of whom is commentator Martin Tyler. Against Liverpool on Sunday I remember Stones completing 3 long-distance cross-field passes that couldn’t have been more accurate, yet Tyler just either said nothing or talked over them.

    He was outstanding again tonight and even Hoddle had to compliment him , he is simply the best English centre back at this current time , a Rolls Royce of a player . a class act our John , hope he ends up with a winners medal to complete his collection .

    It really winds me up. Similar to Maguire, they both get terrible press and it’s not fair. Both top quality centre half’s.

    Maguire is now getting what Stones had a few years ago, the media highlight every slight mistake, social media make memes out of it. Shocking.

    I honestly believe, if Stones was Spanish, Brazilian, etc. he would be hailed by the media as one of the best if not the best defenders in the world.

    He's twice the defender Pique ever was/is. And that's a non-negotiable opinion.

    I like Pique, he was/is a solid defender. But some said he was world class. He's never been world class. Fantastic footballer, but hugely overrated - in my opinion ofcourse :)

    He was alright. Looked comfortable enough in a team that spent 30 of their 38 games in a season having 90% of possession ;)
