There's no perfect way. I guess the closest would be to allocate double points for certain unpopular games or something but I think you're right anyway, the main problem is integrating it all.
Ticketmaster mentioned twice as a blocker to implementing stuff. Either Ticketmaster offer APIs and the like and we get creative, or bin them and get in a company (or develop something ourselves) that delivers what we want....
Until Don Rowing allows season ticket holders 4 tickets for the Liverpool away game, who then distribute them to friends who couldn't find Oakwell if stood on Belgrave Road. I'm not bitter about it though.
I did actually hint at it on Monday Jay. I remember they initially Said 4 then reduced it to 2 on advice. I played merry hell. given we had circa 8k season ticket holders. And 4-5k tickets. Brain of Britain (DR) said we wouldn't need another allocation. As we'd not sell out. Having to stump up for the lot apparently. Reason given. We'd not sold out for the Newcastle away midweek league cup game earlier in the season. We sold, and I'll stand corrected 1,600. What an absolute numpty.
I was just responding to the suggestion that this was an indication of when the shirts would actually be available to buy / collect. I don't think it is.
I presume not they must give one of the biggest profit margins to remain with them for so long. Umbro seems to have a bit of a resurgence of late and would love for us to go down that route but I don’t think they have ever produced kits for us and if it does look like shirts might be available sooner than usual that I can only imagine that’s with puma still.
You do realise that us southern based fans with Season tickets travel rather a long way to every home game dont you or doesnt that count at all
That is the point I made in my post in that the amount of reward points someone gets for watching us at an away game should be based on the mileage between home postcode and ground travelled to.
My Dad grew up an Hoylander. Moved to Jump. And Gave the title back to Jump after you buggers tried to nick it. Heathens
Thats fine as long as the points given for having a Season Ticket are also based on the distance from the grounnd so live in Barnsley get 25 points for having a season ticket 1 point for an away game within 50 miles, 2 for an away game between 50 and 150 miles and 3 points for an away game over 150 miles Live more than 50 miles away get 35 points for your season ticket and live more than 150 miles away get 45 points for your season ticket. Thats what you mean right?
I mean when purchasing away tickets the points you get are based on your home postcode. So if I had gone to watch us at Millwall I would have got more points than you and if we both decided to go next week to Huddersfield you would get more points than me.
Aye that does seem to be the case. Shame as the Puma home shirts have been a bit dull for a few seasons now, they always produce decent away shirts but we end up barely wearing them anyway! Was always one of my dreams to see us play in an adidas kit.
The club have always kept home and away seperate. That's why those who always travel away quite rightly get first refusal on away tickets regardless of if they are a season ticket holder or not.
That's not actually true. I used to be in the top category for away games based on being a long term season ticket holder. The next category was shorter term season ticket holders and the next was new current season ticket holders with the last category being general sale.
