So if the vouchers expire on the 31st May the shirts must be coming out within the next month or so, a welcome change.
Unless the club is expecting us to take a punt and buy blind...

Not so sure about that. It does mention pre-orders, rather than just orders

As Eaststander used to say, what is a pre-order if not an order. Well, that was the gist of what he said. And he was right.

I know but still ... it's an order.

Anyway, all this pre order/order ******** takes away from the fact that we're not talking about the benefits of reserve+. The main reason for Reserve+ ( apart from the shirt) was first dibs on away tickets, and we might need that for smaller grounds in L1.

That was addressed last night, loyalty points are being carried over and they may give more for those that attend further away games on a Tuesday night. As I recall I didn't have any special points or ST in league 1 last time and I got all the away tickets I wanted without any trouble, like Accrington.

As I understood. reserve plus was dropped. Allowing all season ticket holders a discount on the shirts.
A system is in place to recognise those that travel on a regular basis. Giving priority for example to those that travel long distances on a midweek game. Rather than for example those who travel once a season to a local derby on a Saturday. How they will categorise it I'm not too sure.
    Check your Stubs. I suppose.

How do they work out who's travelled a long distance though? The only fair way to do that would be to work out the distance between home postcode and ground visited. Otherwise for example you end up with southern based fans who went to Millwall last weekend getting the same points as those fans who travelled down from the north, which wouldn't be fair. The same way if southern based fans go to Huddersfield in a few weeks it wouldn't be fair me getting the same points as someone who lives there.

It was discussed at a fan engagement forum but the only way they could do it is based on distance from Oakwell as would have to work with the ticketmaster system

The best way for any loyalty scheme to work is to link it to purchases at Oakwell that you use your season ticket card to buy them with. Put more money into the club coffers and get more points

I think helen gave a better response. But maybe southern based season ticket holders should be given a priority on southern based games. Given the travelling they have to make to Oakwell. For each home game. I dont think there'll ever be a perfect solution. But I reckon it'll satisfy most.

But not everyone can afford a season ticket, a lot have to work weekends and evenings too. I think the club are right to account for them too, by rewarding them for travelling to away games when they can.

I get that but money spent at Oakwell for home games and within the ground goes to Barnsley. Every ticket bought for an away game goes to our rivals so really we should be rewarding and encouraging more money spent at Oakwell. If it was up to me it wouldn't just be season ticket holders though, any fan who makes a purchase would be able to get a card that purchases earn points on. Essentially a Tesco clubcard for bfc. They could quite easily do double points for certain things or give points for away games too but I think that a clubcard type loyalty card is the easiest way to manage it

Playing Devils advocate, would not Southern base fans deserve a gold medal the size of a dustbin lid plus loyalty points for travelling to Oakwell 23 times a year as well as away games where ever they are ? I also think I deserve loyalty points for travelling to Oakwell 23 times a year from Hoyland Common !!

Maybe but the ever-presents who travel all over the UK each and every game and take the time off to go to Portsmouth on a shitty evening in December probably wouldn't agree. I think I'd agree with them. They are more deserving to be at the front of the queue for those small allocations before someone who spends a bunch of money in the shop

They'd also have to find a way to integrate the POS system with Ticketmaster which is probably why Ben Mansford never completed his pet project.
