I bought a 2nd hand iPhone x, still 120 quid though, could not find a case thought it be ok, just be careful till the amazon one I eventually decided to order arrives in 3 days, took it to work, got it out of my toolbox and I swear it turned into a salmon ,it leapt out of my hands twisted in mid air and in slow motion hit floor, turned it over big crack on screen and no it had not froze on pornhub, the worst kind of crack a big glass one ,so there you go 36 hours to beat or are you on a record run of never dropping yours??
I do drop mine fairly often but I always have a case and sometimes a screen protector on and I think I've only had one smashed screen since having most of the iPhones since the first one. Had a few with marked screens by the end. (I'll probably smash it today having said that ).
Don't think I can compete with speed, but I have dropped no less than three phones down the toilet and one in the bath.
Had my iPhone 4 and half years, no case but has got a screen protector. Never dropped it. Don’t think I’ve ever dropped a phone apart from old Nokia 3310 and they were indestructible, battery would fly out but stick it straight back in and no harm done.
You need a system. As soon as I step foot in bathroom my phone is out of my pocket and put down safely on the side before the toilet lid is lifted. Never stand over an open toilet with a phone in your hand or in your pocket (you can guarantee it will fall out and straight in).
I drop mine from time to time as well but always have it in one of the Silicone cases and so far never done more damage than a scratched screen. In fact my current iphone12 has a scratched screen because I was daft enough to put both my phone and the key to our local church in my back pocket and then sit down with the key against the screen but is just a bit annoying you feel it more than see it. Its supposed to be waterproof but never done the toilet test on it
They say men can't multitask and there is no better illustration of this than a smartphone fished out of a toilet, soaked in its owner's urine.
Snapped my iPhone 12 in half, it was literally at 90 degrees. Had it 3 months, no insurance. £400 to fix
It's a running joke with one of my mates. He's had more phones than carphone warehouse. From being about 16, the longest he's had a phone, without putting it through the washer, dropping it on concrete, dropping it off the side of the building or even accidentally hitting it with a golf club, is about 3 months. I bet he's into triple figures for phones.
Dropped a phone years ago in Batleys cash and carry, didn’t crack or break but was completely dead and it couldn’t be repaired. Pre smart phone era this would be. Had a load of iPhones and never dropped them, I did break one screen walking into the kitchen and catching it from in my pocket on the baby gate bracket we had up. Cost me about £180 to have repaired at the apple store at trinity in Leeds. That’s it though - which over nearly 25 years of having mobiles isn’t too bad I suppose.
Never smashed a screen dropped phone from top to bottom of stairs (carpeted) a few times and loads in general always have a cover
