My first experience of yesterday was very positive. Attended a charity game at Anfield and sat in the Anfield Road end where it has been recently installed - be nice to see it rolled out more at other grounds.

Something you would be in favour of?

Yes ! On the strict rules that zero tolerance of standing in seated areas is vigorously imposed with effective penalties .

    Yes but on conditions.
Safe standing comes with significant additional costs to implement and also additional stewarding costs. With that in mind I'd hope that the safe standing areas were priced higher than the seating areas rather than everyone else having to foot the bill. Do that and I'm all for it though would personally not use it.

I wasn't a fan but it works well - lot more comfortable than I thought it would be. My advice - don't knock it until you've tried it.

I'm a lazy sod so I like a seat and as daft as it sounds I'm not all that keen on the atmosphere at matches either. Well I am but I prefer to be away from it listening to the ponty make their noise than be in the middle of it as I don't really do well being in amongst loud sounds like that. So yeah it isn't for me personally but I fully support their inclusion for people who do want it provide the cost is passed on to them with a slightly higher ticket price, especially if it was to be retrofitted. If it was in a new west stand it could be absorbed much easier

That's interesting. Does the bar get in the way of your view? Where is it in relation to your sitting position?

No not at all - I leant forward. Nice height for resting your arms - quite comfortable..

Interesting that some people don't like them unless the people who use them pay more. I always stood in the old days and I had no choice when the terraces were converted to all seating - and I had to pay for it when those that chose to sit didn't have to pay any more than they had previously.....

Might be me but I'm not entirely sure what your point is. If you were already paying more to sit, why would you expect a price increase if standing was converted to seating? Surely that's irrelevant to those already paying for seats.I remember at Oakwell it was about a fiver to stand and £8 to sit. I assume it went to £8 for everyone when standing ceased.

I used to stand and was forced to sit and forced to pay more for the "privilege" of doing what I didn't really want to do in the first place.
