    I know I'm going to get shot down for this but it puts into context the supposedly world class Italian team we had on the ropes in the Euro final and then capitulated to.

    I'm not convinced losing only on penalties in the final is failure.

    My Mrs who is half Italian doesn't give a toss. So that's good enough for me.

    Personally I thought it was funny as F**k that the mighty Italy lost to North Macedonia and then I remembered that Italy beat England in the Euro 2020(21) final a few months ago and realized that North Macedonia had managed to do what England had failed to do, so found it even funnier!! (seriously England need to stop taking the lead early in these games, hold it at nil nil and then strike late on. Stops Southgate over thinking things and thinking a one off attack to give us the lead early on means that we're on top.)

    I was referring to how easy we made it for Italy who really should have made their superiority count before penalties.

    I agree, but winning a penalty shootout when you've drawn doesn't really feel like winning either.
