    Can you imagine the comments on here though , if Bale was our player and missed a big local derby through a non disclosed injury but them miraculously recovered to play for Wales a few days later?

    I think that Bale has an ongoing struggle with injuries (groin??) and feared that if he played for his club a few days before the Wales match he wouldn't be fit to play for his country. By the end of last night's match he was clearly fkd.
    Played well didn't he !

    Yeah I realise that but, given his club got stuffed and they pay him, was that right?

    It's a difficult one - I guess the thinking was that with Bale Wales can win - without him Wales will probably lose. Bale was carrying Welsh expectations - for Wales and for himself he made the right decision.
    (he'll be Wales manager one day !)

    totally wrong RH, there plenty of others in the Welsh team that have put in a shift and made good contributions for good many years now.

    The answer imo is that on a board where everyone speaks English that it makes sense to use English names.

    Maybe that's just me though.
