Re silent Partner. Sure I read somewhere. He'd taken a back seat regarding Barnsley to concentrate on their/his other ventures/clubs. Leaving the reds in the hands of James and Khalid presumably.

The further away he is from the day to day running of the club, the better imo.

The vocal minority. Nobody thinks to tweet when their opinion is 'fairly content'.

The majority of football fans across the pyramid are negative. By definition, half the clubs are in the bottom half of the table and looking over their shoulder. Others have high expectations and do not believe they should be in the division at all, expecting automatic promotion. Very few clubs experience what can be thought of as success. Even following a win the mind automatically moves onto the next hurdle and the inevitability of failure or indeed where the club could have been if it wasn't for previous games squandered.

Barnsley fans are certainly not overly negative when when viewed against the above.

Barnsley fans are extremely negative, the crowd is quiet up until us scoring a goal and maybe sing for the last 5 minutes if we are 2 goals up.
    This a library.
Only 18 out 69 votes think we can stay up on the poll with 4 don't care votes.

I hope a lot of people on here have a more optimistic view on life, family, friends and work than they do BFC otherwise it's grim.

That poll was whether we will stay up, not whether we can. Of course we can stay up, but with the 5 point gap along with the run ins that we and Reading have, it’s very difficult to say that we will. Not sure I’d use that as an indicator of how negative the fan base is.

You think that many Barnsley fans voting that they don't think we will overcome a 5 point deficit in 8 games proves they are all negative (except for you of course)? You don't think that maybe it is just a realistic assessment of the situation we are currently in?

Send the league table to all your friends who support over teams. Ask them if they think we are staying up and then post on here how negative all your friends are.

Obviously don't send it to daddy Paul, Sir Boris or lord Vladimir as you have no opinion on anything your superiors do

If you did that poll last year at this time, I can guarantee that 100% of Barnsley fans would think we'd stay up. Would that have made us the most optimistic fans in the league? Course it wouldn't. Bit of an own goal there mate.
