Do they have to be binary or can they be biological?

I don’t understand the question. Which signals? There are plenty of biological signals usually transmitted in a similar way to pheromones.

    I like a good sci-fi:

I was reading something about Phosphines on Venus and thought we'd overlooked the possibility of it being a planet that could sustain life and now we know it might be able to support life in it's atmosphere. It got me thinking is this signal pure coincidence? Why wasn't it picked up on sooner? Is something saying come and find me?

If you break everything down to its base level, it's all binary isn't it? On or off.

Unless we're talking quantum... That sh it is weird.

Not one of their best, but it does have a couple of decent tracks on it.

Agreed. New World Man is ok, but the rest isn't up to their usual standard.

I'm ok with the first two songs, then it's downhill after that.

I think it was a newish probe that found the data and it was only published last year. NASA made quite a big deal about it at the time but I think a credible alternative process for finding phosphines has been proposed since and it's all gone a bit quiet.

Neither was there molecular life found on Mars...

But it would be unbelievable if there is no other life in the cosmos. Unless you believe in the anthropic principle that the universe was formed just to provide a pathway for humans to evolve and survive.

I sort of knew it would be sulphur dioxide with all the volcanic activity on the surface of Venus.
