Too young to see him play, but always liked him on Soccer Saturday and You're On Sky Sports. RIP

Hard as teak as a cricketer. Would have made a good Yorkshire player. RIP.

Wrong one but … Err I saw him play most famously at Headingly in 1981. There is a story I believe is true that He and Dennis Lillee bet on England at 500-1 and won their bet though absolutely no suggestion they threw the game

A larger than life Australian cricketer who confirmed to a lot of the stereotypes of an Aussie bloke

    Very sad news

RIP , played his cricket ‘hard’ and serious but always seemed a good bloke off the pitch

Loved watching him play. His batting could be ferocious.
Was part of a great team with Lillee and Thompson that seemed to put Geoff Boycott off from being in the England team. True or not I don't know but it appeared strange at the time.

I remember watching him in the 70's as a cricket-obsessed youngster, and into the 80's.
Wasn't it him who sledged Botham as he walked to the crease with "Hey Beefy, how's your wife and my kids?".
To which Botham replied, "Wife is fine thanks, kids are f***** retards".

    RIP Marshy.

And didn't he break Bothams record for the number of cans of beer drunk on a flight to England ?

All time great and a favourite of mine from the 70s being a former wicketkeeper myself.
    RIP indeed.

Great competitor and well respected in the game. As tough a competitor as he was, also a man of principle, as shown when he (unsuccessfully) pleaded with captain Greg Chappell and bowler Trevor Chappell not to bowl the last delivery of their one day match with New Zealand underarm. NZ needed 6 to tie the match and Marsh was the most vociferous dissenter.
