Poya has said it was due to injury that he missed out last night. Surely after last night’s performance Matty Wolfe is way ahead of him. I know it was only 1 game but Palmer has showed nothing all season.

I think palmer will be gone at end of season when his deal ends so better off playing wolfe. My main concern is benson has had a season as equally as poor as palmers and hes on a 4 year deal hope he pulls his finger out.

Main thing on Wolfe is whether he can physically follow up a midweek game on the Saturday, given the injuries he's had in the past. Hopefully he can, and we go unchanged in both line up and tactics.

Don't think it's lack of effort with Benson.

I'm sure Benson is as 5hit as everyone makes out who see's him week in week out. However, every time I've seen him play I've been impressed.

I don't think he's anywhere near as bad as some folk make out. Prepared to wait and see how he develops next season.

Think we're all being a little harsh on Benson, he hasn't been great certainly, poor in fact on some occasions.

But let's be realistic here, he's hardly been helped has he? He's the kind of signing that needs easing in to a solid midfield unit.

A loan signing, even half a season, of an experienced CM (akin to Matty James), would have changed the whole course of his season and ours. I think he will come good eventually, the effort is certainly there.

As it's been said so many times, the defect in this whole season has been in the summer recruitment by Paul Conway.

It's actually quite amazing how one man can almost singly handedly sink a whole club with his ineptitude. I was thinking, to make a balls up on this scale doesn't actually happen to often, hats off to him in some ways.

For me, Palmer has had one good game all season. That was Coventry at home where he came off to a standing ovation I believe. But that has literally been it. Pretty sure he’ll be in league 1 next season but not with us.

I think Benson started off brightly but then got injured and then covid and it really halted his progress. He’s shown glimpses that there’s a player in there so hopefully next season he will be consistently better.

For Wolfe it definitely seems like fitness is his biggest downside but I hope he gets over it and can have a good run in the side now. Offers us a bit of physicality in there.

I think with benson he played a couple of times for burnley but most of his professional appearances came on loan at grimsby before coming here. Too much too soon for him as Burnley fans warned on twitter when he signed center midfield has been our biggest problem this season i think he has the potential to come good hope he does.

Like most of the players we sign, he probably wasn’t ready to come in and play loads of games. He will probably be another that comes good in a couple of years. Plus, he had the humongous boots of Mowatt to fill. I wonder where we’d be in the league right now had we still had Alex playing for us…

We would be more dangerous from set plays and a center midfielder who commands a place and would have helped either benson or palmer no end at the side of him. Sadly he followed val. On the center midfield from i think gomes has looked good of late.

We should have got Kane back & loaned Oxford Benson.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Kane loan extension isn't "with a view to sell" if (when) we go down.

To be fair even at this stage Kane, Benson and Wolfe is a capable League 1 midfield three

We have seen wolfe in one game and not knocking the lad he looked good. Benson needs to pick it up and start lasting 90 minutes for me. Agree with kane but if oxford go up and we go down they may want to make it permanent. Time will tell.
