All very true but we can't rely on the officials to get the basic things right so asking them to book players for running behind the goal would be beyond them.
Pathetic behaviour. Just don't understand it, but then I'm a normal human being not a knuckle dragger.
Today’s goal celebrations are often about wasting time. Wonder what the average time is for play to re-start after a goal has been scored. How often we see players run the length of the pitch to celebrate with their team mates.
It's a lot more visible at away games, knobheads snorting it off keys, sometimes in their seats without even bothering to go to the bogs.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...tml?ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490&ito=1490 Clubs have enough idiot fans without players inciting fans. The absolute state of needing that many coppers and what fans from both clubs did.
'' idiots are going to run on the pitch in response to this kind of thing and inflict GBH on a player'' If a fan was ever to try and attack a player it wouldn't last for very long. A professional athlete against a fan only goes one way. A group of professionals would end very nasty for the fan.
Nothing like a bit of panto/theatre. All good fun until some people who can't hack it lose their tiny brains. I remember Vinny Jones running the entire length of the east stand shushing the crowd when Wimbledon equalised. All good fun.
Did you think it was “good fun” when SSW did the same? If he’d done it at the Ponty End he might have had some company. You know, a fan wanting a polite discussion with him. Wouldn’t have been right but would certainly have been unnecessary provocation.
Can't say I was at the game, but had I been it wouldnt have bothered me. My point was it's only in recent years that people really got their knickers in a twist and have become unable to dish out the ribbing but not take it. I remember Toby Tyke wiping his arse on a toilet roll and throwing it back in the Man City end. As I said, bit of panto and theatre back then. These days some folk cant seem to control their emotions.
he had been hit on the head with a coin, wnaker gesticulations for all Man U players every time they went near edge of pitch, fans screaming and chanting abuse at them all match and he put his finger to his lips and shushed them, what a horrid footballer he is,think football is heading in a scary direction, not really family fun anymore
I reckon folk are a lot more 'uppity' these days! Aggressive drivers, shoppers even, seem more prevalent.. unless I'm getting more intolerant of idiots these days! I can well recall Paul Wilkinson getting a load of grief at Oakwell one season when he was with Watford. Following his goal at the Ponty End he then ran the length of the pitch giving it the V...cue laughter, giggles, and a sort of "fair enough" response!
It's what the opposing players and fans do at least once a match when playing against us. I've seen it rumoured that our players and indeed fans sometimes do it but it's so rare that's you might have missed it.
The one that annoyed me most recently was Cavalho’s for Fulham away this season , totally needless goading of Barnsley fans , they were already already 1 up and hammering us
If a player whips his shirt off the ref is on him faster than a speeding bullet brandishing a yellow card but taunting the crowd is ok?
Yes it seems that making provocative gestures is fine. Nothing to see there …..Bottle on the head? Never mind, just high spirits
Hmm tricky one, so it’s okY for fans to constantly shout abuse & make hand gestures amongst other things, but a player can’t respond to that the best way possible by scoring a goal & celebrating? Best thing about the Leeds game was seeing Middle aged blokes enraged at someone scoring a goal.
It’s not the scoring of the goal it’s the running to opposing fans making gestures, that doesn’t help the stewards who have to deal with the reaction
