Taken at Newport County’s Sommerton Park following a 4-3 win, probably mid 70s but not sure. I know Big lad with beard at the front is former Kendray lad Kev Nutting RIP
Two up left from your mate looks like Geoff Bray the retired solicitor who still watches Barnsley everywhere.
Is it just me or is there a bloke in the middle of the back row with no eyes? Proper creepy. Like a haunting.
Next to Kev, under the scarf, is Steve Holworth and next to him (sat on floor) is Reg...can't remember his surname.
On left just above big lad in middle where scarf starts you can just see Eric morcambe head, didn’t know he was a reds fan
I'm sure that's the 74/75 season as i can recall that pic in a programme. We played Rochdale at home the following week and won 5-3.... Nine goals in a week!! Lol I'm sure Mick Butler got a hat trick at both these games? But the old brain plays tricks on me at times.
Im not on the photo but I think a lot of those lads were part of the supporters club football team that played the home supporters prior to the game ( not on the stadiums pitch might I add.) Played a couple of games myself around that time RIP big Kev lovely bloke ..Around 1976/77 i can remember Dave Copping Steve Sowerby big Kev climbing into my Vauxhall Viva HA and us travelling over to Stockport for the game one night ... Big Kev and Dave climbed in the back Steve tall well built lad sat in the front with his chin resting on his knees .me about 13st at the time.....however we managed to get up Hoyland swaine hill never mind the climb up to woodhead ill never know ...the car towed its bol**cks off ....Black smoke the lot ...lol ...the car was never the same after that...think at one stage the lads got out and walked whilst I continued up the hill and waited for them at the top but that might have been another trip lol.... happy days
He’s fine … I sit next to him in East stand. Still goes to virtually all away games and also watches local non league sides
