it was a traditional old fa cup tie, for maybe L1 v non league though i found i embarrassing and when we went 4-3 up it was a sigh of relief that was it, but it wasn't it was a very poor game and 1 i couldn't wait to get home from
They deserved a replay. I stood and APplauded young bangers goal and laughed each time they drew level because of the lengths we were having to go to for a victory.
Walton should stop that. Seen it all the way and he goes with his wrong hand. Yes we made a meal of it but not having this "Barrow deserved to win" nonsense. Cynical for me. Yes great attitude but nothing to lose. Our game management at 2-0 was appalling only started playing at 2-2. Should have pushed on got three third its game over. But we are mostly a team who doesn't know how to behave at 2-0 up. Stick or twist? Got caught in the middle and made a right mess of it. But it's a win and hopefully can build confidence from it. Collins starts we win comfortably without extra time.....
At what the club has become, at what has been allowed to happen. Angry that we are abysmal on the pitch, and a complete shambles off it.
At 2-0 up against 10 men I was thinking about us possibly bringing on some young’uns for their debuts. I didn’t think we’d let them get back in it 4 times but I guess that’s just us this season for you. I wouldn’t say Barrow deserved the win but they battled hard and scored some good goals. Apart from their goals, I don’t really remember any efforts on goal whereas Vita missed a couple of great chances for us and Brittain could’ve easily had a couple, if he could finish even just a little bit. Pray we don’t draw Man City in the next round because they’d get double figures.
My hope was that we would get a confidence boosting win but I don’t think we did. If anything I they’ll lose confidence conceding 4 at home to Barrow. On the plus side - It was entertaining. Morris, Brittain, Anderson & possibly Styles looked championship quality. Less said about the rest the better. Nice to see Banks score a beauty. Nice family & will have meant a lot to them. I just wish it was a consolation goal in a 5-1 hammering rather than a goal in a 5-4 win. Ackroyd getting on was great. Love to see a local academy kid getting on & his family & friends loved it in the crowd. There’s still the dream of a great tie in the next round. I want a minnow like Boreham Wood or Kidderminster or a giant. I’d love to go to Old Trafford or Anfield. Just no one in the championship or league one please. On the downside - Most of our side looked league 2 standard. I’m not even confident Victor, Moon, Kitching & Palmer would get a game at that level. The first teamers let the kids down today. It was good to see Ackroyd get on but D Benson, Sraha & Bremang should’ve also made their debuts today. At 2-0 up against 10 men with 45 to play we should’ve got a couple more & then handed them debuts. Hopefully they’ll get to play for us but that could be the only chance they get with us & our first teamers let them down.
Why did they deserve to win? They weren’t hard done by or unlucky. They came out of this game with a huge amount of credit, but deserving to win, no way
That’s Barrow who hadn’t scored away from home in the last 5 games let’s not forget. Abject. This team is going to struggle in league one. Not convinced Poya is the right man either. best thing that happened to Barrow was them going to 10 men. They seemed to have the extra man and not us.
I disagree. We had more possession, more shots, more shots on target, more corners and were never behind with our threadbare squad. Barrow did well but we they weren't hard done by.
In that they were the underdog, came back from 2 goals down and scored 4 against a championship side, all this with 10 men too.
I think people booed because were a championship team pating championship wages to championship players and we conceded 4 goals against barrow and not just barrow 10 men barrow for most of the game.
Being the underdog means less pressure like when we've beaten the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool in the past. All the pressure was on our players who after a pathetic sorry I mean poor season they were expected to win a game for a change. They came through it as well. I don't remember them having any decent chances to ever go in front. They all came when behind. Barrow played well but we deserved to go through.
I didn’t want us to lose but we deserved to lose. Barrow were excellent and well worth the win. The difference in the end was Carlton.
Well if that's how you feel send another £15.00 to Conway. I'd rather not compare the current team to any or the previous ones because I'd probably cry. We were a complete shambles.
