I read the other day somewhere that attendance includes everyone in the stadium - players, coaches, press, stewards etc. Might explain the inflated numbers. Or that could be utter rhubarb.
Any exec box/season ticket holders would probably also be included even if they didn't attend. (FA Cup games are included).
there may have been some people who bought tickets who didn't attend due to the inclement weather. I was planning to attend but chose not wishing to drive 165 miles in the rain. I didn't get a ticket though.
Was taken just before the second half began, so could have been plenty in the lav, or getting Lebanese chicken. Think the stand holds just less than 7,500 these days. Includes exec and corner stand of course. So based on the figure given, about half-full (exec was usual capacity so I'm told), that looks about right based on what I saw today. First home game I've missed since April 9 2016 (a defeat against Chesterfield in L1). Based on the scoreline, I ought to make it a habit!
Cheers, I just got to my seat as they kicked off for second half and there were still plenty on the concourse
I was in East Upper on row MM and as I looked to right and left, and also above and below me, I saw hardly any empty seats. I was actually surprised by how low the official attendance was, when it was announced. Obviously, the precise time at which the photo was taken is an important factor to take into account, if one is wanting to query the official attendance. As we have to pay a percentage of the proceeds to Barrow and the FA, our club can gain nothing at all by exaggerating the attendance figure.
A better comparison would have been for a photo to be taken around the hour mark when everyone is back from eating, drinking, queuing or going to the toilet.
