I've done, the families done, the friends have done, the most important thing is my two young boys have not even battered an eyelid for a while it's all done me to death. I've now found better things to do ( less anger) not worth it, my last candle has been blown out. Probably the last remaining ones can turn the lights out when you've had enough, my respect by the way. Until Conway and Co feckoff and get wiped off the face off the earth I might one day contemplate coming back, this illegal set off stir crazy ******** have took thus club back 10 years if we're lucky. Football has died too me just so feel so wronged. Love you reds thanks for the memories. Xx.
We lost get over it. What have the owners done that is illegal? Prove that and I'm firmly with you. But toys out the pram and throwing accusations out because we are having an extremely poor season after a superb season positionally the season before. If we had beaten Seansea and gone on to win the play off final last season. How many years would the club have been taken back again? Short memories..
‘if’ is a big word. I actually think a lot are in this mindset. Anyone who thinks a poor game or a loss is an over reaction needs to look at the wider aspects of why apathy and belief are topics on more and more peoples minds.
They're a set of liars and good time charlies. When things are rosy, oh Chien's twittering away, the CEO (whoever that is) is blowing smoke up the directors' backsides. When it's going abysmally, it doesn't even resemble a professional club. And what right do they have to hold the club to ransom over ground shares and money owed to the Cryne family? Set of cowboys.
I'd say good memories. Folk remember what we had and what the powers that be have chucked away so easily this season, through clueless management.
As over reactions go that’s excellent. When the club starts winning again (even under this management team, because they’re not going anywhere) you’ll be coming back. All fresh faced and optimistic.
Some people are just grateful to have a club to support. Which is fine, obviously. But then they feel the need to fall over each other to defend the club the second anyone dares to offer any criticism. A strange bunch.
You genuinely think this is because we lost a game to Blackburn? This lot have relegated 3 times in 5 years though we were once saved by someone else cheating.
Thanks, glad you think that way, I'm certainly not claiming to be that. Just because I'm not a doombringer and just blame the owners for everything. At some point we need to be realistic where our resources as a club can take us. Can we over perform every year, answer is probably definitely not.
2 bags of chips wrapped please mate, and you might as well stick 2 portions of Battered Eye Lids an all’…
The main thrust/s of the original post seemed to me to be a combination of a) The club is crap and b) it will continue to be so while the current owners are in charge. If my reading is correct then I wholeheartedly agree. Its nothing to do with this season per se or last season per se. Its more to do with the toxicity and soullessness that is now surrounding and permeating the club and which will in my view continue to disillusion people like the OP as long as these people are in charge. The club is a joke, simply a means for these people to make money. Relegation is unimportant. Custodianship is unimportant. Promotion is only important in so far as it likely to lead to more profit based on increased revenues. Time people woke up and smelled the coffee and stopped sticking up for the owners. As to the claims about illegality made in the op I'm not sure they have done anything illegal so I think that's probably an error. Otherwise, as I imply, the post is perfectly understandable.
I would not consider the OP a 'flounce'. When you read lifelong fans who have STs but don't even bother to turn up for home games (especially when money is tight and access is difficult for many forms of entertainment due to Covid) it is clearly more than a handful of individuals having a 'knee jerk' reaction to a defeat or even a poor season. You can count a raft of issues, both on and off field, any one of which would raise eyebrows amongst competent business leaders. In the case of the way BFC Ltd is being run it is frankly a shambles. As regards illegal actvities, there is one potential issue, that of vouchers. If (that word again) it transpires that by Close of season, that incentive offered, is not honoured then 'Yes' they have acted illegally and possibly, given the disenchantment, people who might have , in the past, shrugged it off and thought it would help the club, may well resort to legal action. Either way the reputation of the business (it is no longer a 'club') has hit an all time low amongst the majority of the fan base. There comes a 'tipping point' where apathy of the fan (I should really say 'customer' ), leads to terminal decline of a business. I fear under the current management this is potentially not too far away. A small number of 'die hard' supporters on this thread would be insufficient to sustain the business. Football supporters need dreams, aspiration and football clubs' ambition lights that fire in supporters. All the current owners actions on and off the field have poured cold water on those dreams. Nothing they do or even say gives any hope or expectation that things will improve. I have followed Barnsley since 1967 and there have been extreme highs and lows (all part of being a Barnsley fan) believe me there were some dark days but there was always the hope even in the darkest times that things would get better. It was never through lack of trying both on and off the field. We won together and lost together. The current 'disconnect' is what is destroying BFC. I really don't see how anyone can deny that.
I'll ask you what I asked someone in a different thread who hasn't yet replied. Unsure whether you'll see it though because you made a balls of the quote function. What's your view on the current situation? Are you happy? Why do you think that we gave regressed so much in 6 months? Are you happy about the 750k? Do you think the Reds Reserved Voucher Scam is excusable? What's your view on the Herbie Kane situation? Do you think Vita and Oulare were good signings? Did you enjoy Freiser announcing his departure on ebay rather than The Club leading the way? We're you satisfied that closing the West Stand was the correct decision? Do you think that fans were adequately supported regarding their seats? Did you think it was good that the stand was continually in use throughout this period whilst fans were not allowed in it?
