I hate when places don’t advertise what the salary actually is. Going off recent performances on the pitch, I have a strong suspicion that Barnsley FC and I have a very different definition of the word COMPETITIVE.

Don't think I have ever seen 53 bullet points in a advert before either.

I have for jobs that require a degree and QTS, plenty of times, but they advertised pay accordingly. Having seen the salaries that BFC have previously advertised though (on the occasions they do actually pay people and don’t just expect volunteers), I would want proof that this was fair before I even considered applying.

It's normally when its toss jd.
As you well suspect jd.. its normally when the pay is bottom rate, its never mentioned. When they put competitive, it means its 10p above the minimum wage

I don't work in education directly but our clients are the VH of the VS in the LEA and we work closely with the DfE. Most days I haven't a clue what on earth anyone is talking about.

All jobs I see listed in my industry are always "competitive" salary which in practice means that the applicant just lies about what they're currently on and then negotiates a further uplift to that figure.

Having taught and assessed in FE for over 25 years I doubt there is a single person in the Country who meets the job specification. The salaries would have to meet the rate of pay school teachers get which is in England (excluding London) and Wales - £25,714 to £41,604. A main grade school teacher is highly unlikely to have the knowledge to any depth of apprenticeships. I doubt you would get anyone applying unless it is upwards of £35K and even then it would be on the low side for what is required of the candidate.
