Are you referencing 'Get to bed flower.......you seem to have caught too much sunshine today, don’t be late for school In the morning'? Because that wasn't me and was another poster. I didn't insult you in any kind of way. We replied to each other twice and gave both our perspectives.
Yeah I agree, plus you have to factor in Christmas in just over a week and a reluctance to have to isolate over the festive period. I've not gone on holiday abroad for the past couple of years due to this and that is partly due to not being arsed enough to pay for PCRs and risk of quarantine/ rule changes. I can see how these restrictions greatly impact businesses. With this one though, I think a lot of people don't want to risk it, not necessarily due to masks etc as the majority of people wear them in supermarkets anyway. I'll be out for a meal on Friday eve and doing my bit.
Think it was this, but not from Loko (although he liked the comment which is maybe where the confusion has come from?)
The confusion isn't over a like. It's just a case of mistaken identity and an incorrect accusation. I did face palm at over the top criticism of Southgate and England though.
So no ‘measures’ by the government at all then, just that people are changing their lifestyle in the face of a perceived risk and you’d rather they didn’t.
I finally got a reply from my MP. He thinks covid certification as he called it is a valuable tool. Incredible anyone can think that.
I have it from someone who knows that as of last week Leeds Hospitals were understaffed by 450 nurses. Happy days.
Ok, one measure that was current and relevant. All the rest was just noise. I appreciate you’re pis sed off, I would be too if I worked in your industry. And I appreciate the government have made a right mess of this. But it’s a global pandemic, and just pretending it’s not happening isn’t an option.
Genuine question. I’ve not really looked into it because I haven’t needed to. Lots of different terms being used - covid pass, covid passport, covid certificate etc. Are they all the same thing, i.e. the QR code I already have on my Covid app? Or are they something else?
A bit more than just noise. The change to testing for travel has resulted in either cancellations due to not having the funds to socialise or staying indoors until that travel comes. The voting in of Covid/Vaccine passports, whilst not a measure that forces you to not go to the pub, PR wise makes people fearful. And it's not that I'm annoyed because of the effect on the industry I work in. It has knock on effects for industries I don't work in as well. I'm pro-business but that doesn't mean I'm anti-health, anti-society, a Covidiot, or an anti-vaxer. I fall out with a media and government that are using extremely powerful language, and sometimes telling outright lies, to whip people up in to a fearful frenzy.
Ah right. I’ve had that ages. I added it before the term ‘covid passport’ was even a thing then. Been asked for it a couple o times for various reasons. 10 seconds to fire up on my phone. Never seen it as an issue.
Absolutely damning and makes her look 2 inches tall. I hope that every TV station plays this in full, every media site plays it and every person with any sense of common decency shares it. Boris has to go. His office has to be charged with a string of offences. And Cressida Dick needs to lose her job. Throughout the pandemic she has acted absolutely disgracefully, breaking the law herself at one point.
