Yes the Police Act that passed last week has far more serious implications for freedom than this does. This is just a dead cat to distract the plebs from this. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/extraordinary-image-shows-raucous-xmas-25699183
Relax. It's a temporary measure. It won't last for long. Plus if all you have to do is take a test before being allowed entry to any particular place, then it is indeed analogous to wearing a seatbelt so that you can drive. Think of all those people who are doing something for their fellow person. Making an effort to keep others safe. But nobody's really making you do anything. No coercion or blackmail. On balance, for now, and until we know how this latest variant pans out, I reckon there's a higher cause to serve. Let's see how things are in a couple of months.
Your point being?? Perhaps you should consult a dictionary before you pipe up. Surely the ignoramus who can’t spell ‘argument’ is the one who instantly loses the argument?
Yes if for a legitimate reason an MP cannot attend Parliament to vote then the whips can pair them with an mp from another party in the same position. It’s pretty standard and happens all the time. https://www.parliament.uk/site-information/glossary/pairing/
What if 1 person dies as a result of wearing a seatbelt they were coerced into using? Oh hold on, there have already been numerous such deaths i.e. motorists that couldn't be released from their seatbelt and were trapped in burning cars. You don't see anti-seatbelt campaigns, because people recognise that they save far more lives than they cost.
What's going on with all these seatbelt comparisons? I'm guessing seatbelts on these rare occasions aren't just spontaneously lillijg healthy people. I'm going to assume that usually it involves a crash of some kind.
What's interesting now is how the government rebels react. With the measures passing only with Labour support, the rebels are likely to be asking "whose prime minister is he?" Those questions will grow louder should the Tories lose North Shropshire tomorrow. Imagine a Tory leadership contest with Sunak, Raab, Saj, Truss and Patel! None of them would have a personal mandate going in to the next election, which could play into the hands of Sir Keir. Remember folks, boring is beautiful!
so to confirm you don’t think utilising seat belts are public health measures based on and analysis of risk… you don’t think road traffic rules are implemented based on an assessment of risk? You don’t think stop smoking measures are implemented based on an assessment of risk. I mean there’s stupid and there’s you and your fellow Covid idiots. I guess I should feel pity for people groomed by the far right but it’s hard s sometimes
Aren’t you the same person who refused to discuss unhealthy lifestyles putting a strain on the NHS? Interesting that on that one the comparison or analogy wasn’t allowed to stand. I’ve already answered this on a previous reply. I just think you chose to ignore, but at any rate reaching for the ‘Covid Idiots’ comment suggests you’re losing the discussion anyway.
It suggests that there are only so many hours in a day to discuss issues with people who have been groomed by the interweb. You’ve already lost the argument as per the voting yesterday and any poll regarding the implementation of further public health measures. Happy to help you there. Luckily many people care more about society than the individual Is that a confirmation that you do think other public health measures are based on an analysis of risk or not. People are quite often denied treatment based on lifestyle choices. Happy to help you there. I’m sure done already right idiot will tell you differently though.
Just to try and lighten things up a bit. Karl Pilkington's views on the nanny state. A well documented idiot. Watch from 4m 30.
People talk about 5-2-3 and 3-4-3 formations as if they were different. I reckon they're both the same.
Struggling to decipher the majority of this reply. But good to know how much better and more caring you are than some of us. Glad you’ve put yourself on that pedestal.
You said "No evidence exists, anywhere globally, that they contribute to a reduction in the spread of the virus". I thought you meant vaccination, but looking back it looks like you meant vaccine passports. You've got a very unfortunate manner about you though. There's no need to be so rude and obnoxious when you reply to people.
