We've had Beatles and Stones threads in recent weeks, and they've both brought me untold pleasure by reminding me of songs that I'd long forgotten. Anyway, my question tonight is thus: What is the best B side of all time? There's nothing better than buying a single (or there used to be) and turning it over and finding a beauty on the other side. I'm a big Oasis Fan Boy, so I'll be popping Stay Young in to the argument. Great riff, great vocals, great message. Rain is a great track too. Ringo is such an underrated drummer. Go!
They were great for that 3 or 4 year period wrapped around their debut album. Mersey Paradise is an incredible song - I've no idea if it's a B side, but I feel like it is.
Whatever was a single not a B side - I think Half The World Away and Its Good To Be Free were on the other side. Incidentally, it was kept off Xmas number one by East 17 and their big coats!
its on she bangs the drums, standing here and Mersey paradise were both b sides, incredible songs both
Pass. They released it between the first 2 albums at the end of 94. I suppose times were different back then and if you had a good tune you just banged it out. Cum On Feel The Noize is a beauty too - maybe that's one for the best cover version thread that I'll start next Friday.
My favourite Wedding Present track was a b-side to Brassneck. I love the energy in this song, and the changes of pace throughout.
