You got a lot out of a 13 minute display, in which he was no worse than any other player in a red shirt.
Obbi has been out of action for some time. It was good to see him finally on the pitch, but there's no way anyone can form a meaningful opinion based on 13 minutes. He may be good for us, he may not, but it's going to take a run of games before we see anything like the player we're hoping for.
Oulare looked so far away from been a professional athlete it was concerning. Whilst he didn't physically look like Mido, the way he lumbered around looked so laboured and awkward. You don't need to be a sports scientist to know he is way off.
Oulare might not be fit but he puts himself about. I've seen 28 mins of him plus stoppage time this season. Whilst he's cumbersome he could be a handful if running him out regularly to get him fit. It's no good 15 mins against Middlesbrough in October and then 13 mins against Swansea in November. If it takes sacrificing a substitution in another area to get him fit and letting Cole play a full ninety then so be it.
I think we've become stuck in a spiral of never ending chop and change for the sake of chop and change this season, probably encouraged from last seasons 5 sub bonanza - but even then we tended to start with the same players and finish with the same players, everyone new week in week out what was happening to who and when. Now its just total randomness - bring in Hondermarck from the U21s, play him a couple of games, drop him back out of the squad, and for why? Was he any worse then Gomez of Benson, no. We seem to change every position except for Woodrow, Collins and Hellik. All the others are much of a muchness, lets be honest, I would say Brittain and Styles have clearly got talent as has Oseka, but the rest, just pick 8 more players and stick with them for a month, why change J Williams for AN other Williams or keep rotating 3-4 CB where the best thing to do is to stick to the same 2 or 3 so they can get that understanding you need there. Stop swapping in and out one shade of gray for another and just tell the starting 11 - "you're my first choice I trust you now go out there and prove it." - is it any wonder there's no confidence when no one can say (except the 3 mentioned) who's on the team sheet from one game to the next?
This week's interview with Poya on RS: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0b6kf1t My particular favourite bit: "If you lose, will fans fear the worse?" "Are they not already?"
