I like what Poya says. He's analytical, assessing what he's got to work with. Focusing on defence first. Midfield of Brittain, Styles and the best of the others. Oulare playing like Dike. Sorted. He'll have a settled side playing his style of 4-3-3 before Christmas. We need to get two or three wins from the next six games. And avoid any heavy defeats.
I am not surprised we didn’t play amazing football last night. Asking a new coach to implement his style over two sessions is totally unrealistic and the fact the defensive set up was ok for an hour or so is promising. however, playing for your new boss for the first time you would expect some fire, some passion, some energy. The fact that wasn’t on display is very concerning and will be the reason I suspect we will be relegated
Oulare playing like Dike? I can only assume this was some sort of auto-correction and you'd originally typed 'Mido' based on last night's performance.
I remember his one header to knock it on from a throw.. and missed it compleatly. We have too many poor players..
What did Obbi possibly do in his 13 minutes last night to offend you? He wasn't given a single good pass or cross to feed off, but worked hard and won what he could in the air. How you judge a player just back from injury on that cameo and decide it's a poor performance is nonsensical. It's mental how many on here think it's ok to slag of the players for no reason, so much for being a 'supporter'.
he reminded me of one of those big kids at school who was always last to be picked had no coordination and ended up throwing mud at people
No one dressed like they just ram raided Burtons window is going to be a success ,think poya is a sit in stand kind of guy,but sadly our stand behind dugout as more holes in it than our defence,he had Jo Laumann in East Stand relaying info to them
come in jo, hows it looking… over We’re ****.. over Ok ive tweaked the formation a fraction what do you see now Jo.. over We’re still ****… over
So explain to me what exactly he did yesterday that made him comparable to Dike in any way, which is the point I was making. Hopefully the bout of Better Fan Syndrome will clear up soon too.
Did Oulare come on waving a Chien Lee Barnsley F.C Chocolate dildo? That's as close as he got to Dike.
Explain to me what he did to be compared to Mido? It's not being a better fan. It's not being a lovely person.
It was inspired by reading a similar comment from another poster yesterday, so clearly I wasn't alone in what I saw. If I'm putting Oulare on a scale between Mido and Dike, he's sitting much closer to the Mido-end of it currently. It didn't help that, within his 13 minutes, he managed to roll his socks down like he'd just played through extra-time in searing heat, or that he headed straight into the West Stand at the final whistle, apparently for a sit-down according to someone else's observations. I expect him to be lacking match fitness, but based on last night he's lacking the basic fitness expected of a professional footballer at the moment. http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/positives.309912/page-2#post-2856822
I'll clarify the original post for you. I liked what Poya said in the interview. He sounds okay, but he's obviously got a lot to think about. I got the impression that he'll work out what to do, assess the players and get on with it. The comment about Oulare was a throwaway one. I was imply saying that a big bloke up front may help as we're not creating any chances. It's probably too much to expect him to play like Dike, but he might be as good as Eddie Loyden!
Some have been berating him on here daily for the best part of 3 months now, for no reason in particular. It's odd behaviour.
