The only way I'd be happy for the 80%ers to withdraw £750k from the club in order to pay off their debts, is if they got us to the Premier League and earned the club £100m. And even then, I'd only be happy if they were open and honest about it.
It wasn't a dividend. I don't think there were enough reserves in the club to do that, nor had they created any profits in their time to date to be able to to earn £750k. They gave themselves a loan which they immediately wrote off turning a profit into a loss.
They haven't done it as a dividend. They made the payment directly from BFC to the 20%ers. A dividend would have meant them paying tax, which they haven't.
You’ve spent £750k in 25 years with BFC , which was put in a special SuperTyke account that has now been emptied by Conway and co ?
Not sure you know. I think this issue with the £750k would upset the majority of fans regardless of our mid table vs. bottom of the table position. Things do get ignored or glossed over when results on the pitch are fine, but I know that I'd be just as annoyed at this regardless of us being top or bottom of the Championship.
Aren't we all on most things in life? For example our FPTP political system means for many of us we do that everytime we have election.
This isn't intended as a dig at Mr C, or anyone else, but it does highlight the challenges we have in getting a wider element of the fanbase to understand exactly why this is such a fundamental issue in terms of the management of the club and it's finances. I think the BBS is probably the most informed social media outlet regarding it too. Twitter and other BFC related sites are far more prolific with regard to their "don't get what all the fuss is about", "why are they having another dig at the owners" type of comments. To clarify. The £750k wasn't a dividend. It was the football club paying a debt that belonged to the investment company as part of the purchase price of the club, which was then subsequently written off and treated as an expense of the football club, which turned a small profit for that year into a loss. The recipients of the funds, the Cryne family, have publicly stated that it is not the football club's responsibility to pay this debt. The only reason that it is a £750k loss of funds is that the owners have refused to pay the other instalments due on this debt. Without this dispute there'd ultimately be a £3.5m hole in the club's cash reserves, if the same treatment were adopted for the entire amount owed. This, to put it in perspective, is more than the available cash that BFC held at either of it's previous two financial year-ends for which accounts have been published.
Add to that ....Answer the letter my 87 year old mother addressed personally to you 2 days after you closed the west stand....which has been ignored all of which in turn resulted in her having to ask for her and the old man's money back due to the seats offered not been acceptable This ended their relationship with barnsley football club....foot note....she walked out of the ticket office in tears coupled with the fact that the worry over it all has made her ill.... So well Done ....Hope it makes you so proud how you've not only upset her but all the others who are affected ......
I am sorry but if you think the club take notice of one persons point of view on the BBS you are mistaken, if I wanted to address a problem with the suits at Oakwell I would contact them , I wouldn"t put a random comment on a fans forum & hope they picked up on it .
Is it just one person who wants the answer? I thought we all did, that's why there are many threads mentioning it and many pages on those threads. I apologise if I'm the only one who wants to know why they lied and took all the money we've ever put in out. Don't you care?
My mother has been going since she was around 5 held a season ticket for 20 + years whilst in business she organised numerous buses over the years to away games Wembley etc some on here can vouch that even when she and the old fella retired from the pub game their old customers would phone her up and say....Joan love anychance you could organise a bus...and off she'd go again..cut her in half like many others she bleeds barnsley Football red..........so to walk away like she did was heart breaking for her...and yes it's made her ill ....unfortunately she wasn't isn't alone with the treatment received numerous folk have also suffered at the hands of our CEO
Your Op asks a question but to who ?, you ask a question on behalf of who, yourself, a group , the BBS ? I just think if you are targeting an individual & wanting a response then contact that person but I do not think a random comment is the right way to go about getting the answers to your questions , what ever they are .
