Saw him at queens ground. jumped one car and a few wheelies !! health and safety was non existent back then. There's a clip on Youtube where he jumps over a few cars i think it was and obviously is at top speed and then has to slow down and stop. And his "crew" are holding some sort of soft banner or long canvas sheet !! to stop him going over a hill into a big drop and into a ditch presumably a river or stream He just ploughs straight through it and goes straight over the edge into the drop. Bonkers
Piles of cardboard boxes were the safety brakes. Eddie thought he could land safely on an incline hill. No he couldn’t. Tank hit his helmet at 60 mph. That’s why he’s like this.
This one There plan to catch stop a motorbike weighing hundreds of pounds, with a man riding it weighing up to 200 lbs going at high speed with a sheet !!. obviously maths not there strong point. might have been a bit more helpful if they had stood or moved a bit to the right place.
How the chuff were they going to stop him!? That's nuts!! Mind you, i once tried jumping my parent's garage on a Chopper when i was a young un. Made a ramp etc..... ballsed the feat up and crashed into the gable, just missing the landing window! Rushed to hospital etc.... all Evel Kneivel's fault you know!
