Read an article on the BBC by Glenn Hoddle about playmakers. He reckons what has held England back has been lack of a playmaker. He also thinks we have loads of them now and just need a decent holding midfielder and play Grealish on the left. I don't believe in holding midfielders but I think England need to learn how to play with one player that breaks up play. Tonight shows me going with two does work if the team plays higher up the pitch. Southgate can adapt. He took us to the Semi's of the last World Cup then the Euro Final. If we don't win the World Cup get rid. Not in a nasty way but he's set the bar for himself.
England have a difficult game and we’re rubbish, England have an easy game and the opposition are rubbish. There’s no pleasing some.
Albania came into this on the back of some decent results. Just been blitzed and blown away. Pleased for Kane and Maguire who in my view, contrary to the poisonous bile of Roy Keane, had every right to celebrate as he did. Hope we don’t just see it out as appears to be on the cards from start of second half. Foden could be Barnsley’s entire midfield for me.
Albania still had a chance of qualification so came to get a win, that made for an open game which England ruthlessly exploited. Against teams that play not to lose is where we struggle, and obviously top teams.
Second half is going much as I expected. We’ve decided 5-0 is enough. In truth though it could have been 7 or 8-0 at half time, such was their dominance. I hate to see them just relaxing though. Give us some entertainment for goodness sake!!
Northern ireland r **** useless cost me 120 quid on bet. Needed 2 goals in game. All other 8 games in. Piss poor
I didn't want to like that but did. It's always the nailed on one's that let you down. That goes for horse racing too. I feel for you.
I agree. Send in the white coats. Joking aside why hasn't he pushed forward and expressed himself like that before? Personal opinion he's been scared about his place and lost it to Rice and Phillips. Recently he's thought sod it I'll let handbrake off. Great performance driving the team forward. I'm happy he's proved me wrong tonight. Does he know Callum Brittain?
Didn't watch it as I assumed an easy win was on the cards. Get i Kane's glad he's started scoring, that'll be his place cemented no matter what his form's like for Spurs.
