whilst my head is down the road and already happily contemplating a life of free weekends, I’m still p:ssed off at the way loyal fans are seemingly being treated with utter contempt by the owners/ management. Part of me wants to fight the injustice of all this. I do feel like these owners are properly sticking up two fingers at the fans (through their inaction). Isn’t there anything that can be done?
I don’t think so. Football hasn’t been the fans game for such a long time now. For all his faults when Patrick was here I thought we were outside of that but now clearly we are part of the problem not the solution. I don’t think the current owners know how close they are to losing half their fans.
Walk out for the 80% ers. Everyone get up and leaves on 80 minutes next home game if we are losing again.
Nothing will impact on that as more often than not the clubs you’re referencing are in disarray themselves and need the sale. If the Saudi state can buy a Premier League Football Club and nobody really care (other than the excellent journalist at The Athletic) then what hope is there for a group of businessmen buying a football club who we don’t happen to like very much? They’d easily be able to spin what’s going on at Oakwell to any future club they want to purchase.
I paid a tenner to watch it on ifollow today but out of principle I did so via the Bristol website as I don't want to give another penny to greedy conmen
Has to happen even if we're winning imo Gally (not that that's very likely). For me it's about far more than the results and so it should happen irrespective.
Only thing anyone can do, is vote with their feet. Don't like what's on offer, or the reasons for it? Stay at home. In my case, it won't affect them - this season - because they already have my money. But new habits are easy to form, and they'll miss me next season. The thing with small clubs, is that if it isn't my årse in the seat, it's nobody's. I have always worn this as a badge of honour. I am important to my club, because they need me. I matter, my financial input matters. There's no glory-hunter coming along to replace me, if my support lapses. I matter, so see how you do without my cash, and presumably the cash of many others. I am one drop in an ocean. Many drops can wash the owners away. It will come at a great cost, but it can be done.
Yes. The money I spend doesn't go to the club any way in the long run so why would I want to give money to make Paul Conway and chien Lee richer? Remember EVERY penny you have EVER put into Barnsley FC over your entire lifetime has been taken out of the club by the 80% mob to pay their debts.
I’m more impressed that you went through signing up for Robins TV to have an account, paying for it, and then setting up the VPN. The game wasn’t on iFollow for their stream.
