Well, if WBA with their parachute payments couldn't afford him in the summer we were never going to be able to. Don't know why Murphy made out we ever had a chance of getting him permanently.
Unfortunately Helen, the same Dane Murphy who less than two weeks prior to leaving addressed the fans with the following: "we believe that if we can keep this group together, keep the staff together, and keep performing as a club like we have done, both on the financial side and in the modelling of our philosophy, then why not, why can’t we go again?" Says everything you need to know about the man. A fake. A shame because I quite liked him for a while, when I thought he was genuine.
We were only ever going to sign him permanently if we got promoted we didn't so he went back to Orlando. Murphy was blowing his own trumpet making out he'd got this unbelievable deal done. Its probably one of the things that got him the job at Forest even though it was all ********.
Not sure we would have even if we'd gone up , 20 million is a huge chunk of the available money we'd have got for being in the PL
Would be interesting to know what important decisions he took, knowing that he wouldn’t be around for much longer. Letting the CEO’s contract run down, and lose the club secretary at the same time was just inept from the club’s owners.
If he was so good for us then what's the reason he's still in the Mickey Mouse league? Did his form dropping off for us towards the end like being a passenger in the play offs cost him a big summer move?
I'd have him back. It's not in the least bit surprising Valerien is rumoured to be interested in taking him to WBA.
He did. Another one to make the mind boggle. Maybe it’s more common than we realise but I literally can’t think of a CEO in football on a limited time contract
Doubt he was on a fixed term contact with city group. Wasn’t he serving notice / gardening leave before he officially joined us?
You know you've finally arrived when your wedding has its own website. https://www.theknot.com/us/melissa-terry-and-dane-murphy-sep-2021 We even get a mention, though not by name. We're just "an English football club", consigned to Dane's history. Bitterly disappointed not to have received an invite... I thought Dane and I were closer than that. Just goes to show, you think you know someone...
Seems really strange doesn’t it. Most businesses wouldn’t approach a business critical role on that way. How do you establish continuity etc.
Folk go on about him jumping ship to forest....hasn't it crossed anybodies mind that just maybe him and the likes of big Val and Co were privy to all what's now been revealed re situation off the field ...and got out before the 5h.1t hit the fan...
Of course he wanted to get out, but then his 'all in it together' message to the fans just before leaving makes him even more of a hypocrite, he could have just kept scthum, or at least not built up fans' hopes with yet more bullsh4t. Maybe he should join the Conservative party.
