Was very poor today as he was Wednesday I don't know if its schopp or what but he couldn't find a red shirt 1st half should be doing alot better a player of his quality at times today didn't seem bothered.
Respectfully disagree. We pump big balls to him even though we have big striker on the pitch and second half I thought he was the heartbeat of the mini-fight back.
Take his captaincy away and let him concentrate on his day job also stop him taking corners and set pieces. Give him a couple of games if no improvement a spell on the bench
Captain, leading scorer, untouchable. That second half chance - he had time to put a foot on it, maybe even sit on it and then get up and slam it in. But no - snatch at it with the left foot and the chance is gone. Totally lacking in confidence. Two or three game rest will help.
But if we are pumping big balls to him which you seem to be suggesting doesn't work for him then isn't it fair to say that he's the worst out of the lot at the job he's doing? I'd we played completely different tactics he might be better, and in fact used to be, but playing these tactics he's currently the worst imo. In the second half we were losing and he kicked the ball into the ponty end to waste time.
Not from what I saw. Tap around at the back until we run out of space then hoof it to Woodrow surrounded by 3 centre halves. Rinse and repeat. When he picked up the ball and was looking for movements Frieser either ran the wrong way or into an offside position and Vic puts the effort in but doesn’t know how to move into space. As soon as Woodrow had players round him that could pass and move he came to life and looked much better.
All the others are even worse at having the ball wellied at them from 40 yards when surrounded by 4 players. Frieser was easily the worst player on the pitch and hasn’t won a ball in the air since he came to the club. Victor for his build is also incredibly poor at it.
Not his best day. If our media department did a show reel of him giving the ball away with a bad pass they would have double figures worth of footage to use.
Victor was my man of the match and many others judging by the boos when he was taken off. Frieser much more effective than Woodrow too imo
Frieser was absolutely dreadful. His runs were appalling. One moment in the first half he ran towards 3 defenders and Woodrow just passed where he should have run. He barely touched it and had zero impact. As for Vic I voted for him in the MoM poll but his goalscoring record is 6 in over a 100 games so let’s not kid ourselves that he’s a better forward.
yeah I don’t recall him doing anything other than running from space towards the defenders or moving offside. Don’t recall him actually touching the ball.
In no way was Woodrow worse than Freiser. We looked like we had an attack when Cole and Iseka came on with him. Victor was man of the match but he was never going to score or create.
I think I had stopped looking his way by that point. It was pretty clear that both Woodrow and Vic were ignoring him as well.
I'm not sure it's fair to assess Woodrow purely in terms of goals at the moment. But he always tries to play the man rather than the ball when it's up in the air, he has a touch as bad as Vic when it comes to him other than on the floor below head height, and his flicks and through balls are atrocious. Every now and then he does summat to make you think that he's quality, but it's been ever decreasing for a while now, for whatever reason.
Woodrow is by some distance the best player at this Club IMO but his performances of late have been very poor- though it hasn’t been for lack of effort. If he has anything about him in terms of ambition, he needs to get out of this Club ASAP. He’s going backward at the moment and should want more.
