Maybe he was maybe he wasn't but in the situation the club is in at the moment with trust levels through the floor you'd think he'd have the sense to make sure everything he said was bloody right, like I said if only to try and rebuild trust because let's face they bloody need to.
Possibly. If it was something that really mattered (just to me, granted). New CEO who started in September, doing his first major media tour, forgets we sold one player 10 weeks before he joined. I don’t see it as misleading or deceitful I guess. It’s just forgetful and not 100% accurate. Like I’ve said, loads of us on here have used the ‘no sales this Summer’ line to be reminded of Chaplin.
They’re not that easy to spot. If you’re going to start a thread labelling people I think it’s fair you do that openly so those people know/can reply. In the current situation being labelled a board defender is hardly a positive
Fair. But it’s also not a comment that hurts us, the club, or massively misleads, etc. So if you were calling him out for being a bit slack then fair enough. But to go on the offensive and call him and outright liar, which factual he is, just felt way too strong.
To be honest there is a few but I'm not going to mention any its quite obvious if you read the board regular. If they want to defend the indefensible that's upto them, if they think just because these people are touted as "billionaires" they will put money in as opposed to taking out thats upto them.
That thread was posted three hours after yours and is one person giving their view. And it’s doesn’t criticise or label anyone who might disagree, and felt to me like opening up discussion more than anything.
But that doesn’t make you a board defender? There were plenty not saying a word, and plenty who never say a word, providing things are fine on the pitch. You could make that point and still think the club have had a shocker the last four months. No?
It’s just a post putting some points across about things they have control over and things they don’t. Really civil, thought out, fair - but ultimately giving them a bit too much credit. It’s like saying, ‘In Schoop’s defence’ listing some things that haven’t gone his way, but still thinking he needs to move on. Wouldn’t make you a Schopp defender would it?
