He's already said gomes had got learning to do before he is ready for the championship. We've gambled on olare and iseka 2 players who have never played in this league. Ones out for a long time other can't get a game because schopp keeps picking odour and expecting a diffrent outcome. Anderson if we expect him to play out from the back is a recipe for disaster and Morris is a big miss but we don't really create much we don't get many ball into the box we play so narrow. I think schopp was a cheap option and a yes man for the owners who have to take alot of the blame for recruitment which has been awful.
If he shows he's willing to learn and try something different to get us moving in the right direction then he deserves more time. However, if he keeps doing the same thing and performances/results don't improve then he deserves to be sacked. The other night he looked completely out of his depth and incapable of changing things.
new coaches/managers usually have their own backroom staff, this guy was Billy no mates, so he cannot be that popular anywhere
Didn’t both Struber (Matthew Rose) and Ismael (Laumann) bring in assistants they hadn’t either worked with or met? For what it is worth I don’t think Schopp is up to the job on many fronts. The sooner Barnsley act the better. However, I don’t wish to see any personal attacks on the guy. Schopp is not the problem but unfortunately nor is he the solution .
Nobody is doing any personal attacks on him every reds fan knows he is not good enough including yourself by the sound of it. We just want him gone
You've literally referred to him as "plonker schopp" about an hour ago. I think it's looking increasingly like schopp may struggle to turn this around. However, I'm still willing to give him a few more games after the international break, considering the squad he has had to work with. So not every reds fan wants him out just yet.
There is just so much we don't know about the total situation, and probably never will. The most immediate thing I see that frustrates me is some of the team set ups, selections and sub interventions. However, Schopp is quite consistent in doing things that I can't fathom. But I don't know the plan, the player situations, or see them in training. I don't believe for one minute there isn't a plan, or that Schopp selects players he doesn't feel are the best for the situation - what I'd like to hear is an explanation of these things. Unfortunately, some of that won't be possible for many reasons - I would be very surprised if he is 'clueless' though. I thought the clip of Brittain's post match was refreshing, and would hope that the players are being included in formulating 'solutions' on the field.
I have been watching them 68 years. Give him a few more games plus time to get new bloke in then I am afraid we are down. The board have at this moment got 2 weeks to sort it. Let's see how good they really are
We're one point off safety. And surely in your 68 years supporting you would have noticed how quickly form can turn, especially in the championship. We've seen countless examples at our club and others. So I don't really buy that we have 2 weeks to sort it. I'm not saying schopp is the right man for the job, however, I think you have to give any manager more than 11 league games taking into account the squad we have had at our disposal.
What I mean by 2 weeks is it is the international break we can sort it now without hindering anything. Do it your way give him another few matches sack him then do the process of getting a new man in. It could be after xmas. When it is too late. And believe you me after 68 years watching Barnsley you have an idea when things are not working
I can't fault any of what you say but where do you think the help for Schopp is going to come from? Get Mick McCarthy in as a "Director of Football"?
In general I'd agree with you, but the fact that we've not even appeared to have a semblance of cohesion makes me think that we really need to get rid now, before any more damage is done.
Performances are very concerning. However, there was a very small glimmer of hope in yesterday's first half performance. And a part of me still thinks he should get a chance when we have Benson, Morris and Iseka all fit. Which will hopefully be the case after the international break. I understand I'm in the minority but I hate the lack of patience shown in football and I'm willing to give him a few more games to try and turn things around. If we continue along the same path for the next 2 or 3 games then I think I will also end up joining the "schopp out" gang. But not just yet.
I would like to say that the people to help Schopp are at the club but I've realised that most of the continuity from last season has gone/is going! That makes it harder.
That's what I was alluding to. I don't think there's anyone other than the board with the seniority and stature to "help" Schopp unless he's prepared to effectively work under Academy/Junior team coaches.....
