The most successful period under Lee, Conway and Co's tenure was the end of the season before last and last season when due to covid they were well away from the club. Then as soon as Conway becomes heavily personally involved in the day to day running of the club again it becomes a **** show again.
One of the most successful seasons in our history happened with no fans and as soon as they could return for the play offs we lost. We should therefore go back to all being made to stay away....
So it’s the FANS fault. Of course it is. Tsk, Tsh, should have known that. A big ‘well done’ to those who ‘liked’ the post.
Maybe that's the plan, Some would still defend the board if we were playing in the Sheffield and district Sunday league Division Ten and playing home games on the Fowls training ground.
Like it or lump it, fans are integral to football. And I bet there's nothing better to get the adrenaline going than a full noisy excited stadium. Lockdown worked in our favour. Fitness levels were high, due to a mainly young team without family/social distractions following the fitness plans and engaging with them over social media. Val's tenure relied on him barking tactics/ numbers and being heard and heeded to in an empty stadium right from the off.
During a break in play due to injury the players went for a drink and Schopp just stood there didn`t get among them to encourage or cajole the players to get that bit more out of them, he spoke with one player Cole who he was probably letting know he had 5 mins before being hooked. That`s how it looked, little connection between manager and players.
I knew what you meant. Hence the like. Appreciate getting a ‘big well done’ on top though. Bonus points
No you didn't. Lets be right, you have no idea whether the owners were "well away from the club" and you have no idea whether Conway has become "heavily personally involved in the day to day running of the club again". So if it was just an innocent question, which lets be right it really wasn't it's not based on fact anyway.
We need to accept that relegation is part of the plan - to show off our borderline Championship development prospects ready for market.
Some would still defend the board if we were playing in the Sheffield and district Sunday league Division Ten and playing home games on the Fowls training ground.
But we're not playing in that league, or ever likely to be whilst the current ownership keep us financially prudent. The more likely scenario is that Wednesday will end up using our training ground. You say that some people always back the board, yet the majority it seems slate them for every little thing they do (or don't do).
Well given they weren't allowed to come into the country for the best part of 12 months without great difficulty that would suggest they were well away from the club unless of course they broke the law and smuggled themselves in and out also Conway is on record as saying he was acting as CEO again when Dane buggered off so I'd say thats pretty heavily involved .
