Are folk really so pathetic that their football team losing a few games makes them lose all ability to think clearly and not make stupid statements?
Always happens after an exceptional season like last year. Having said that, Schopp does himself no favours. His press conferences do not breed confidence.
Assuming this is about the anti Schopp comments. Not there today, so relying on others to tell me, are we looking organised at the back? Or relying on Collins and poor finishing? How are the midfield 2 going? Unfortunately we’ve not scored in the second half since the opening day, so still not particularly confident
We've won 1 game all season! Some of the performances have been horrific. The performance today has been much better (credit to Schopp and the players) but we really need to make it count in the 2nd half. No good playing well if we don't win but hopefully in the second half we will take a couple of chances .
That's part of it, but it's also comments about players (especially Oulare) and other stuff that just doesn't make a lick of sense if you think about it for more than a millisecond.
We've been 'decent'. Nothing more, nothing less. Miles better than midweek. First goal settles it imo.
Yeah, some of the accusations levelled at Oulare have been out of order. But the coach is always going to get a lot of criticism when you have a run like this.
Criticism is fine. Comments suggesting that he's lost the dressing room, baseless accusations of falling out with players, assertions that if he's not sacked this weekend the only reason for that is that Conway won't admit he made a mistake. It's just nonsense.
I’m not sure how you measure whether he’s lost the dressing room. But whatever his plan is, the players either can’t follow it, don’t want to follow it or they are following it and it’s just a dreadful plan. Either way, the coach is ultimately judged on results and they are very poor.
Lost the dressing room always sounds like the players are flat out refusing to comply. To me it's more along the lines of the players don't have faith in what the coach is saying. I'd imagine they don't, he has come in and changed the style of play and we have won one 1 game. No player would ever come out and say it publicly but I'm sure they are full of doubt in the coach at this point. That's just human nature. As for sacking him I suppose that's a judgement call in how long those making that call think is acceptable to carry on in the hope things will improve or if they even think they can. If we keep failing to win games eventually he will be sacked. At the point its a admittance that the appointment has failed. Until that point its continuing either in faith or hope that the appointment will work out. Wouldn't personally call it all nonsense in the literal sense of the word, conjecture would probably be more apt.
I have no insight whatsoever in to the relationship of the manager and the players at Oakwell. However, one thing I can say with some certainty is that managers who continue to lose games get sacked.
