Well done, old mate. I used to love Thomas The Tank Engine And Friends & that was before we had children! When our son Christopher was born, I made sure we got all the books, videos and models. Obviously, I claimed they were all for Christopher's enjoyment!
I used to read the Thomas books to my lads, and they're 42 and 35 now! Would read half a book one night and finish it the next, and when I stopped reading they knew it was time for sleep.
Cheers mate . I love the railways and love Thomas The Tank Engine and Friends. My parents read the books to me and recorded the series. I had the wallpaper and bedding when I was a child. I think it's a tradition that I'd like to carry on. My sister bought him the box set of books last Christmas and since we went to Cleethorpes I've read him a book a night.
He'll love the Thomas day out at Kirklees light railway when they start doing them again. My son was observed with Thomas too, got the wooden track and trains saved in the loft for any grandkids
I've been looking at 00 guage railway models for when he's a bit older. I had a Hornby Thomas and Bertie's Chase set as a child with the level crossing and tunnel/bridge. He'd love that. I want to take him to Railway Museum at York but I think he's still a bit young to know what's going off. Everything with wheels is "car" at minute. When he plays with his tractor he says, "car". I say "no, tractor".
I started taking mine to York at around 2 I think, we certainly made a fair few visits over the years, just as well its free! We never ended up getting the electric train set because by the time he was old enough for it he'd outgrown Thomas and was on to moshi monsters!
Yeah George is all cars and dinosaurs. It changes so quickly. Cbeebies is being fazed out for Bing repeated on youtube.
This is kids in a nutshell. You will have a routine that works and then suddenly it won’t any longer and you have to change and adapt the routine to find a different way. Repeat.
