He said he was willing to go to Forest, which is a basket case of a club when it comes to managers, might suggest he would take the job and be willing to toe the line (he wouldn’t lasted long at Forest if not).
Chris Wilder's stock is far too high to consider us unless we offer an absolute fortune in wages which we won't do. I don't know why his name keeps getting mentioned.
Can’t believe anyone seriously thinks Wilder would consider working for our owners. Not a snowballs chance in hell. Anyway he’s got no links to Austria.
Alex Neil would be a decent call experienced championship manager. Players would respect already got a connection to the fans.
Sums it up. The reason he was willing to go there is precisely due to said basket-case status. They would pay him a LOT of money which they don't have, and he would lap it up.
No because Wilder wants a manager's role with control over all footballing matters and we don't appoint managers anymore.
There might have been a time, several years ago, when Wilder was a realistic target for us. Since then his stock has risen so high that you may as well reference Pep and Klopp alongside him. He's biding his time and has the luxury to be able to pick and choose his next move. The chances of us being part of that consideration are zero.
In an aim to find some hilarity on this board I must share this... one of Gene's finest moments, courtesy of Woody Allen
Purely on what we need now footballing wise I would say YES. We need someone to up the temp, build confidence but also bring passion and discipline to our game and approach. However there are many other financial, emotional and side factors that would probably mean this would in reality be a NO.
No thanks, not for me. The only upside would be watching the meltdown from the blunts when they visit in a few weeks time.
Can't see it myself. The DNA with these owners seems to be orientated towards coaches with links to German/Austrian football, perhaps a legacy of Dane Murphy's time here.
I think he'd come here. Stick in the local area in charge of a group of players who haven't suddenly gone useless after last season. He would turn us around.
