The BBC have done it again by leaking that there is a good chance that the nation will have to cope with a national shortage of pork pies , within minutes the village of Jump was gridlocked with long queues forming outside Percy Turners as people rushed to fill up , tempers flared & people are getting extremely crusty , well done the Beeb as if we didn"t have enough problems.
Judt had a lovely hot pork pie from Birkinshaw's on Summer Lane, and am now cleansing the pallet with a stunning piece of parkin.
Think yourselves lucky. I've not had access to a pork pie since I moved to Ireland! And they don't do custard, or vanilla slices or proper cream scones, or most other sorts of pies, or mushy peas.
Hope so. But unlikely I would imagine. Stocking up next time I get the chance. Chest freezer on order.
