I was sat in the mount. Police escorts ( vehicle and on foot. Around 15/20). 1 for each rovers fan. (most still in nappies) marching em up pontefract rd. Towards town. Ffs. Ott. For the amount to control.

Trouble is. We have our own. still in nappies mob. Causing issues for us when we play away. Been a major issue this season.

Also avoids confrontation. Most fans are well behaved. But this season the numpties are back in force. Especially in the first few games.

Yes they should, but in no way is this exclusive to Barnsley. Indeed, there are very few places where away fans can wander about the town/city they’re playing in and go into any pub and be totally confident they’ll not be subject to physical or verbal abuse from the home mob. You’re also linking a place’s crime and other social factors into the football hooligan, which is not the case. Why Am I surprised at this post?answer, I’m not

I suspect that's heavily weighted on wellbeing. There's no way places like Sheffield, Nottingham and London are safer places than Barnsley. Gun crime in Barnsley is virtually non-existent.

You realise how absolutely flawed that study is right? Crime rate makes up such a small percentage of the figures used in the ranking that it's absolutely laughable to try to use the study to take a pop at the safety of town centre pubs.

There's a reason that mental health is worse in Barnsley (and Rotherham, and Doncaster) than in London and Reading and that is chronic underfunding of the north by this evil government and the biased treatment given to the south. Funnily enough it's the same reason for a higher death rate too and poorer sickness record and work related injuries. The reason for it all is that the racist in number ten and his equally as self centered predecessors have shafted towns like Barnsley for so long that are quite literally killing people. Killing them from poorer physical health, poorer mental health and poorer access to vital health services than they give to their Tory loving mates in the South

That is how it should be, but let’s not forget that it is a 2 way thing, the general acceptance by people and not taking offence or being affronted by visiting fans in our town centres and pubs equally needs to be met with less of the ‘ we came, we saw, we conquered’ mindset of the visiting people.
