I don’t think he’s anywhere near as good as some would have you believe but he is a quality player. I think he’s very eccentric all the ball. Often gives the impression he’s doing something useful when there’s plenty of times he holds on to the ball too long. I reckon Pep will make him even better.
He's playing for the team. He plays passes - mostly short ones - that would be likely to open up defences if the receiver of the pass had the same nouse as him. Sadly he can't pass to himself. He could of course be a selfish ball hogger and try and take defenders on directly. And if he did he'd be better than anyone in our team in doing so. But for now he's just as good an option as the one who takes people on but ends up largely with less of an end product. Sterling.
In the premier league, he has amazing close ball control which leads to him drawing a lot of fouls. In the Championship he’d have lots of potential if he could just be a bit less ‘lightweight’ on the ball.
It’s all about opinions but I think he’s superb, the work he does for the team is unreal, England done by a great bit of skill tonight but we are a very good team now and the players to come in are equally as good
He got little joy tonight but was outstanding the other day. Should have been subbed around the 70 minute mark has he became increasingly ineffective and frustrated.
I think he let himself down tonight. Rather than crossing the ball and trying to beat 3 defenders instead, he could have displayed his skills by not crossing the ball and trying to beat 6 defenders.
We have a few over rated players. Last night I thought our biggest culprit for throwing away decent opportunities was Sterling. The moment that cost us for me was Rice's decision to shoot rather than play Shaw in on the left. I reckon that cost us. Not just a goal scoring opportunity but it would have taken time out of the game.
I agree about Sterling, he can be infuriating at times, often trying to take an extra touch or beat another man rather than just getting the ball across the box. No doubting his quality though, he's always a must start for me. It's Mount i just don't get, neat and tidy but nothing special. You'd hope that Bellingham will eventually displace him as he looks the real deal.
