...I can boogie Great result for Scotland tonight. Big credit to the Austrian players who were getting booed off and went over to talk to the fans. Respect.
Two evenly matched teams making for a very enjoyable game. Penalty decided it and it was a penalty. I’m tonight pleasantly happy and surprised.
How happy are you (as a Scot) that your fellow countrymen will be paying extra NI to fix the problems in the NHS and Social Care in ENGLAND? According to the BBC this morning. Ok almost as an afterthought they did mention in passing that some extra money will be given to the devolved governments, but all the focus of the report was on England. It made my blood boil and I'm English. Well done Scotland last night. I'll watch the highlights on catchup.
As much as the rivalry . Hats off well done Scotland. Be nice for all the home nations to qualify. Enjoy the ride. It's like watching BFC though. It will all end in tears
Well done to the Scots. My question is, how come in the 60s and 70s I knew of most if not all of the Scottish team, yet nowadays I know perhaps one or two who perhaps ply their trade in the Championship?
I watched the game and honestly thought the ref was bent, Che Adams was booked for a nothing challenge and then the same player was dragged down in the box and the ref took an age to come to an obvious conclusion thanks to VAR. The Austrians were out fought, well done the Scots.
Didcot you are not alone. There were some times last night when the camera panned in on a Scottish player and I thought who the fk is that. Maybe it’s an age thing that when you are younger you took more notice.
I think that it is more to do with the influx of players from outside the U.K. and Ireland in our top leagues, including the Scottish Premier League. It has raised the standard of football throughout the Premier League (both) and EFL, however, when I was a lad most Scottish internationals played for teams in the English First Division or for the top two Scottish teams (apologies for any offence here). How many Scottish players hold down a place in the English Premier League now? The only one I can think of is that lad at Man. U. and I can't remember his name, there is also that young lad from Chelsea. Perhaps age may have something to do with it.
Personally, I don't think he's the best full back in the Scotland squad However, it is very close between him and Tierney and they both have different qualities
Hopefully they can qualify, thrash England 0-0 again, and declare themselves world champions, alongside their Euro 2020 crown.
Probs from late 90's, early millennium, I seem to view it as then was when Scottish players weren't as prominent in our League(?) Thing is....we've had some cracking players from north of the border over the years methinks
