Bonkers points system for me. Only 6 points separated the top 6 clubs 151/145 in the first group stages. Taken from the Yorkshire post. :- For the record, the top division will start off like this, with Warwickshire on 21 points, Somerset 18.5, Lancashire 16.5, Hampshire 8.5, Nottinghamshire 5 and Yorkshire 4.5. The points were carried through from the group stages and represent half of the total points accrued from the two matches against the team with which each side advanced. Hence Yorkshire collected nine points from their two meetings with Lancashire, who topped Group Three, and who pocketed 33 points from those fixtures themselves. Back to me Hence Warwickshire top. finished 2nd in their table with yorkshire having 4 points more than them (149). As I said. Bonkers. For me should have just carried points over from initial stage. Warwickshire finished 2nd (145 least of the six teams) in their table 6 points below Notts. (Top of the six teams151)
TBF it was hastily thrown together. Will be interesting what the ECB do for next season, I hope they keep a similar system (with obvious tweaks) never been a fan of two divisions.
I agree but at least we’ve had a season where Yorks have been serious contenders for all three of their competitions.
cracking start, not sure how ropey the pitch plays, but looks awful on youtube hampshire 1/2 after we got 243 which i think is a great score
