I’d rather be Barnsley than Leeds regardless of position. Very strange response to try and defend them. Assume you’ve spent many of your years as a Barnsley fan applauding the success of the Sheffield clubs as God forbid you laugh at any of their shortcomings?
Absolutely! Apart from when we play them I'm always keen for all the South Yorkshire clubs to do well.

I’m putting this down to an affect of lockdowns, but basically being told we can’t laugh at Leeds because they’re in a better league than us, and a bigger club than us, must be a new low for the BBS. I say that in jest, but then it could easily make top five so maybe not.
Wait and see if they are in early stages of second season syndrome. If that's the case it would be interesting to see how quickly fans turn against the manager.
**** Leeds!! They're West Yorks..... for me it has been, and always will be Wednesday! Leeds/ Man Utd nicked a lot of local support and they were prominent in the playground late 70's, but in my eye they weren't smug *****! That title went to the Owls fraternity in my opinion and, strangely enough, they were usually the ones with a " we're better than you attitude" purely cos their parents had done ok and they didn't get brought up on a council estate! Just my take btw.... as an example, most Wednesdayites in our village were from what we called "the dunks" . New build bungalows back of the Ship and further up in the semis, Sweyn Croft and so on. Birdwell attracted loads of em . As for Hoyland? Now there's an enigma!
